My night with Remus was beautiful. All be it a bit boring, still beautiful.
We ate at a Muggle restaurant, which was the boring part. No magic to spice it up. One girl mistook Remus for my father and we both uncomfortably laughed through it.
Our age gap was something we hadn't talked about much. It wasn't bad, no, but we both knew it looked strange.
Fourteen years wasn't that much. It couldn't be that much of a difference. For instance Remus acted more my age than I did.
I knew many a wizarding couple who were twenty years apart.
I believe it only seems weird since I'm in my early twenties and he's in his middle thirties.
That was one of the few non boring parts of our evening.
But boring was good, I needed a break from room break ins.
I turned the doorknob to my door and I heard thumping. The thumping clustered to the door and pushed it shut.
Speak of the devil. Or black dog.
"Good Merlin..." I muttered with frustration. I took a step back and hit the door.
"Maeve?" Sirius whispered loudly, as he peaked through the slightly opening door.
"Is this nightly now?" I asked. I grabbed the door frame and with much force I tried to throw it open.
When Sirius realized it was me he let go of the door, just as I decided to give it my all and thrust at the door.
The door threw itself open and I went stumbling into my room. Like a drunken idiot.
"Sirius?" I asked. Peering through messy hair, I saw Sirius pacing throughout my room.
It was a small room, not much furniture. So his steps were pushing around the only dresser I had. Something would fall again, I knew it.
"Somethings happened." Sirius said with furrowed brows. He went to my door and shut it, then he continued to pace.
"With Remus?" I couldn't help but ask. It had been only a minute or two since I saw Remus, but maybe Sirius knew something I didn't.
Sirius rolled his eyes and stopped his pacing. Although he tripped slightly and the book I was reading for Neville fell somehow. I wasn't sure where I had even placed it last.
"Do you remember my brother?" He scratched the side of his neck almost exactly like a dog and I couldn't help but stare.
I almost began to laugh, but it would be worse if I had to explain myself.
"The one who you're finding?" I walked to my dresser and I began to slip off the many rings I had laced atop my fingers.
"There's only one brother." Sirius put his head in his hands then inhaled sharply. He looked up and shook his long hair ... like a dog.
I looked away to hide a smile.
"Anyways," he continued, "we finally spoke again because he's taken up a job." Sirius paused, as if u knew the reason why that was bad.
"Here." He said slowly.
"And?" I asked.
The long necklace I was wearing almost fell on the floor when I put it on the top of the dresser. I caught it and placed it further in.
"That's a problem." Sirius said, he continued with the trend of speaking very slowly.
"How is it a problem? You should go out and celebrate! I mean you'll get to see him all the time. Maybe you could even get a job here—" I rambled but Sirius cut me off with a sharp inhale.
