Time passed so fast. Even though I couldn't really count the days passed precisely, I should already be a year old. Around a year had passed since I got reincarnated. Since I got a lot of time to waste, the moment my body started to grow strong enough to move around, I began an exercise regularly.
Of course, the exercise here isn't something like what you do in the gym. Like hell a baby less than a year could do a push-up or a squat. In the beginning, I was training my body by flexing my muscles around my arm or legs. Although, maybe from the other people's point of view, it was just a baby trying to grasp something with his little hands or kicking around restlessly. Of course, it was done without tiring my weak body too much. I don't want to have muscle pain as a baby after all.
But, either way, the exercise plan worked finely. I started crawling quite early and can stand straight when I was eight to nine-month-old. But the fact I could stand up was kept secret until I was ten months old. After all, geniuses tend to die early, according to the isekai novels I had read.
Although I was already able to walk around, I was still unable to leave this room for some reason. I wish I could ask the adult the cause, but the obstacle called the 'language barrier' could not be erased easily. Supposedly, a baby around a year old should have been able to speak a word or two by mimicking the adult. Still, it was a mystery that their words sounded like a censored gibberish to my ear. Even I wanted to imitate them, I couldn't grasp what they were saying at all.
Either way, it might be too early for my ears to grasp their unique way of speaking. Or perhaps, I would be miraculously able to understand their words in my sleep. Well, whatever going to happen will happen after all. And so, I laid my back on my bed after my daily secret light exercise. It was already late, depending on my biological clock. It might be alright to try some more workouts, but there might be a maid or butler who will check on me on their way to the washroom.
But, for some reason, my body suddenly felt so restless. I don't know what it was, but I felt something was trying to fiddle with my body. It was like something invisible was crawling through my body and tried to mess around with my internal organs.
I felt my body was boiling from inside. I panted as I tried to grasp for air. My hands unconsciously held the sheet tightly as I was trying to hold on against the strange sensation.
"Ungyah!!"
My voice leaked out several times. It was quite a loud one despite how hard I tried to hold it in. I struggled and struggled. It was somehow unbearable, but I was unable to pass out.
Bang!!
The doorway was opened loudly. My mother rushed toward my side with a panicked look on her face. At the same time, the door was opened, my head was struck by a sudden headache. Alongside the pain, a long and incomprehensible gibberish echoed inside my head mixed with some other sounds akin to scratching a blackboard and untuned radio channel.
<<Initializing.........>>
A panel that I had rarely seen lately appeared before my eyes. I wished to pay attention to it more, but the pain in my head didn't let me do so.
<<System Starting Up...>>
<<Reincarnated Individual Recognized...>>
<<Survival of the Individual Confirmed...>>
<<Synchronizing the Individual to the System Initiated...>>
An announcement that looked like an installation dialogue from an unknown program popped out one after another on the panel. I struggled around as my mother hugged me tightly. I could see faintly she was crying, worried about me.
