My eyes flutter open and I start to panic, not recognising where I am at all.

I jolt forwards only to hear somebody rush to my aid, slowly pushing me back to lie down.

"Take it easy y/n." He says calmly. I look to my left and spot Minho. Wait, what happened? Why am I here? Wherever "here" is.

"Minho, where am I?" I furrow my eyebrows together in confusion, wasn't I just in the maze a second ago?

"You don't remember?" I shake my head, urging him to continue. "You collapsed y/n, fell to the ground and didn't wake up."

He continues, "I had to carry you back out of the maze so we could see a Medjack. Well, that was until I bumped into Gally..." I groan. I bet this didn't look good to him.

"What did he say?" I question.

"Well, he yelled at me cause I didn't look after you. He's been in here the whole time you were out, but I just sent him out to get some food."

Shuck, Gally was really worried about me. I better see him as soon as possible, but I'm sure I'm not going to enjoy his lecture.

Before I could speak again Gally bursts into the room. "Is she awake yet?" He asks Minho, but soon enough realises that I'm up.

"God y/n, you had me so worried. I was starting to think you'd never wake up!" A light smile appears on his face.

He looks at Minho, silently telling him to leave the room so we can be alone. Minho gets the message pretty quickly and heads towards the door.

He turns back, "I'm glad you're awake y/n, have some rest or you'll get exhausted." I nod my head and he exits through the door.

Gally and I are silent for a minute, neither of us wanting to talk about what happened first. Eventually Gally is the one to start the dreadful conversation I so badly didn't want to have.

"What were you thinking?" His eyebrows furrow together in annoyance. He stares at me, waiting for me to answer... But I don't know what to say.

"I'm fine Gally, it's just because I didn't eat that's all." It's not a lie, we didn't have time to eat and we headed straight into the maze. This probably wasn't the best idea, looking back at it now.

"Y/n, how were you stupid enough not to eat. It's sure not easy spending the day in the maze, it's foolish not to have eaten something." His face starts to get red in anger.

"There was no time Gally! We had to leave straight away, I just need more experience that's all. I'll be fine once I get used to it."

Gally's face turned from angry to a grimace. His face scrunches together, "You really think I'm going to let you back in there after what's just happened?! Then you've got another thing coming for you."

I let out a loud, over exaggerated sigh. "Gally, you're not the boss of me. You can't control me, if I want to go back into the maze I can and you can't tell me otherwise."

Gally is quiet for a minute, trying to process everything that's going on. I bet he thought that I'd allow him to stop me being a Runner, I don't think so.

Gally finally speaks again, in a more quiet tone. "I'm only trying to protect you y/n. It broke my heart having to see you walk into that death trap today, I don't think I could handle seeing you go in there again." He pauses for thought.

Tears start to slowly fall down on his face, making me immediately rush over to him, wiping the tears away.

He takes a deep breath and continues, "You have no idea how worried I was when I saw you in Minho's arms, I thought that you got stung. I couldn't live with myself knowing that could've stopped you."

Tears start to fall down is face rapidly, "I can't lose you y/n. You're the only thing that kept me going, what would I do without you?" The last part rips my heart out of my chest.

I wrap my arms around Gally's neck, comforting him. After a few seconds Gally reacts and places his arms around my waist

He pulls me in as close as possible, but at the same time really gentle as if I were a delicate flower... Something he didn't want to ruin.

We stay like this for a moment, enjoying the warmth and support we are giving each other at this moment in time.

Reality starts to kick in and I whisper gently, "You know you can't stop me from being a Runner."

He sighs, still holding me close. "I know, but let's just enjoy this for now."

Silence swarms around us again, but a peaceful kind of silence. The only noise being heard is the sound of Gally's heavy breathing due to him trying to calm himself down.

A couple of minutes later I hear Gally speak again, "I love you y/n."

I smile and as he nuzzles his head into the crook of my neck. "I love you too, Gally."
