After the door slams all I hear is absolute silence, yet my thoughts are still completely clouded. What the hell did I just do?
I turn around and see Minho perched up against the wall, a look of despair plastered on his face. "Well done, you've just earned yourself a death sentence." He mutters. I release a long held sigh and look around, well... what do we do now?
My feet carry me down the first path of there maze, until I see two more possible ways to go. I hear Minho jogging slowly to catch up with me. I need to think... who the hell do we get out of this mess?
We both exchange a look of complete fear as we hear a clicking noise coming from in front of us, seeing a figure in the shadows in the distance. "Guess we should go this way then." My voice trembles as I point to the right. Minho simply nods his head in agreement and we both hurriedly head down paths at complete random, not even thinking logically at all at this point.
We happen to come across some vines on our way, giving me an idea. We come to a stop and I investigate the vines in more detail, until an idea comes to my head. "Why don't we hide underneath here? The grievers won't be able to spot us if we're hiding behind here."
Minho looks in both directions, before hearing the metallic legs of a Griever fast approaching us, causing us to both scammer under the vines. The sound gets louder and louder, signalling to us that the Griever isn't far away at all. Minho nudges my shoulder, gaining my attention before putting his finger to his mouth, telling me to stay absolutely silent, otherwise we're not gonna make it.
I spot the Griever, still advancing towards us, and I notice it's long, spider like, metal legs and it's face and body resembles something you would only see in your worst nightmares. My body trembles in fear of us being caught, not being able to breathe at all and tears threatening to spill from my eyes.
I nearly faint when I see the monster directly in front of me, heart pounding when it comes to a halt for a second, until I feel a stone under my butt. Without even thinking I grab the stone and throw it in the direction opposite to Minho and I.
It works and the Griever runs in the direction that the stone was thrown, continuing down a random path away from us. I release a shaky breath and Minho and I exchange a small smile of relief.
With the fear of getting killed lessening slightly we both decide to take turns having cat naps, trying to gain energy for when we leave this wretched place in the morning. It's safe to say that we won't be going to work tomorrow I think.
---------------------------
I come back to my senses suddenly when I feel something shove into em slightly, only taking me a few seconds to realise that it's just Minho's elbow. "C'mon y/n, we're getting the hell out of here."
He stands up quickly and excitedly, offering me his hand and pulls me up with him. I mutter a small "Thanks", looking around and trying to picture where we are. "So, where do we go from here?" I turn to Minho, who has already started walking in a particular direction, showing that he obviously can't wait until we get back to the Glade. Then again, neither can I.
I follow Minho back to the Glade, excited to see Gally again. By the time we arrive to the doors, they begin to open... perfect timing I guess. The second that a body can fit through the gap of the doors somebody does. Somebody embraces me in a huge hug but it doesn't take me long to realise that it's not Gally... it's Newt.
However at this point I don't even care if it's Chuck I just need someone to hug me. After what was probably a few minutes I decide to pull away from Newt, who has tears in his eyes. Why is he this happy to see me?
He starts to gush, "I knew you'd do it, I knew you'd survive!" If he smiles any wider his face is going to crack. The best I do is return the large smile and pull him in for another, shorter hug.
As we both pull away I see a small crowd starting to form at the doors, with faces of shocked and surprised Gladers greeting us and asking us how the hell we made it out, but I don't care about talking to all of them right now, Minho can do that if he wants... I just need to find Gally.
I feel someone following close behind me, and i turn around to see that Newt is following me like a lost puppy. I come to a stop and Newt's body crashes into mine. "Sorry, sorry, sorry!" He repeats hurriedly.
I let out a small laugh, "It's fine Newt, I'm just gonna head down and see Gally for a bit." The mention of Gally's name sparks off something in Newt and I swear I just heard him growl. His eyes turn cold before turning around and limping in a complete other direction to where I was going. I wonder what's up with him?
I walk to where Gally's hammock is, automatically pulling him into nam embrace without him even realising that it's me yet, but when he does he pushes me away forcefully. "No, no, no you're not real... you're not real!" Gally yells and I simply respond to homing with a passionate kiss, giving everything I have to him.
The kiss brings him back to his senses and he grabs my shoulders, this time pulling away gently. "You're real?" I nod my head and he pulls me in for a kiss. He breathes quietly, "God ,you're so beautiful." Butterflies are set alight in my stomach, and I step closer to the point where as we are both standing up our chests press closely together.
I am able to feel the strong best of Gally's heart against my chest, causing me to tear up a bit. I sigh contently, "I love you." The two of us fall into our familiar embrace. "I've missed you so much Gally."
I can feel Gally smile into her crook of my neck, tickling me slightly, muttering against my skin, "I've missed you too." I feel his rough finger travel over my bottom lip, and I lose control of myself, forcefully pressing my lips with everything I have.
I don't know what's come over me, maybe it's because I thought I may have lost him forever, but I know what I want. I want him. No, I need him.
Gally grabs my thighs and I wrap myself around his middle, our mouths still connecting in a passionate kiss as he carries me to a mattress lying comfortably on the floor. He gently lies me down, as if I'm as fragile as glass and could easily break under his touch, clambering on top of me, leaning down and reconnecting our lips.
I put my hands to his chest, making him delay our heated makeout session. His face scrunches up in confusion, then his eyes droop in sorrow and regret. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry y/n. I guess I got a little too carried away, please forgive me!" He rambles out.
"Gally, wait... I think I'm ready."
