*Nina's POV*
------------------------
I am awaken by the loud noise of my alarm at 7am. I slowly make my way out of bed to start my day. Today, all of the royal families will be attending a ball. To most, this seems to be one of the most exciting things in the world, for us however, it is a common thing. Once a month, everyone meets to discuss the current states of our kingdoms. It is normally pretty boring, until the Bowens decide to make an appearance.

Their son, Richard, always seems to cause trouble. All of the girls there worship the ground he walks on. I don't see why though. Nothing about him is too special. He is one of the most arrogant and self absorbed people you will ever meet, which is saying a lot considering the environment I was raised. Yes he's attractive, but his personality is absolutely hideous. I always try to stay as far away from him as possible. Our families have been feuding for as long as anyone can remember, but no one knows why. It is just how it always has been. Richard's and my parents brought it to a whole other level. Always bickering back and forth whenever the two cross paths. They can never have a peaceful greeting.

"Nina!" I hear my childhood bestfriend call out.
"What?" I questioned. "Why are you here this early? I told you to come help me get ready at noon?"
"I don't know. I woke up earlier than intended had nothing else to do, so I decided to take a walk to your room," Francis explained.
"Well, would you like to join me for breakfast?" I asked.
"Is that even a question? Come on Nina, we have know each since forever."
"Oh yeah, silly me!" I joked.

-8 hours later-
------------------------
"Wow Nina, you look amazing!" Francis gushed as I walked out of my on-suite bathroom.
"I know right!" I replied. "This dress is probably my favorite thing I've ever worn." I was dressed in an off-white ball gown covered in beautiful lace. My hair was curled in a ponytail.

"Nina, it is time to go!" my mom calls out from down the hall

"Nina, it is time to go!" my mom calls out from down the hall.
"Alright, coming!" I call back before saying goodbye to my bestfriend.

We arrive to the castle where the ball is being held and are met with the Caswells. They have always been extremely close with my family. They have a son a few years older than me named Elijah James. His friends call him EJ. We have always gotten along as friends, nothing more though. He has a secret girlfriend, Gina Porter. I've met her a few times, and can already say she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have to keep their love a secret because of her status in society. While EJ is a prince, Gina is just your simple towns girl. Not there's anything wrong with that, but we must marry other royals, or at least someone of a wealthy family.

I could never imagine having to hide my love for someone. I have never been in a serious relationship, but I know for a fact that if I had someone I felt that deeply for, I could never keep it to myself. I would want the whole world to know the happiness I'd be feeling.

To busy daydreaming about love, I never noticed a car pull up. The sound of the car door closing brings me back to reality. I look over my shoulder to see who has arrived. I make eye contact with none other than infamous Richard Bowen.
