I stirred as I began to wake up, slowly opening my eyes. I felt arms wrapped around me and smiled. "Afternoon, sleepyhead." Bucky spoke quietly. I turned in his arms then started giggling quietly to myself. "What's so funny?" He asked. "You should let me curl your hair sometime." I smiled. "Uh.. I'll think about it." Bucky chuckled. I rolled my eyes playfully and cuddled into him. "I bought more plums.." he whispered. "Isn't that why you left?"

"Well, yeah.. but I thought I'd let you know." Bucky smiled then it faded almost instantly. "What's wrong?" I asked. He stayed quiet, standing up. I watched him as he moved over to the counter to grab a newspaper. Bucky came back and tossed it on the bed. "They think I blew up the UN." Bucky finally spoke quietly. "They're going to be looking for me.." he added. "Oh Bucky.." I spoke, just as quiet. I stood up and went over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist then rested my head on his chest. "I want you to stay somewhere safe." Bucky stated, looking down at me. I could hear the strictness in his voice.

I looked down at the ground then back at him, shaking my head. "No." I replied shortly. "Yes." He retorted. "I had this exact conversation with Steve a few years ago. You guys can't just baby me. I fought with you and Steve in the war. I even fought you, James Buchanan. I'm fighting." I said, pulling away from him, looking at him in the eyes. Bucky hesitated then finally spoke. "Okay, okay. But you know if you get hurt, you know I won't-" I cut Bucky off mid sentence. "I won't forgive myself. Yes, dear. I know. I'm aware." I smiled up at him and kissed him softly. I felt him kiss me back then pull away.

"I love you, snowflake." Bucky whispered, resting his forehead against mine. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in and whispered. "I love you too, honey. Let's go for a walk and get some air. How many plums did you buy?" I asked. "Three, but I kind of ate them all on the way here." He replied. "I- James Buchanan Barnes.." I stated, facepalming. "Let's go get more plums then." I giggled, getting dressed, putting my hair into a ponytail. I grabbed my phone and left the apartment, Bucky following closely.

"I still haven't figured out how to speak Romanian.. so you'll have to do it.." I spoke. "Alright." Bucky said, adjusting his baseball cap. We walked down the crowded streets, I held his left hand, moving from behind him to next to him constantly to get out of people's way. Even urge two of us made it to the stand. I rested my cheek on Buckys arm, listening talk in Romanian. I watched as he was given six plums, he said thank you and we walked back to the apartment. We noticed the door was open when we got there. "Stay behind me.." Bucky whispered. I did as I was told for once. We crept the door, seeing a man standing at the fridge.

He must've heard us come in because he turned around and looked at us. "Steve.." I said quietly. "What're you doing here?" I asked. "I can ask you the same thing, Y/N." Steve said. I stayed quiet for a moment or two. "I came here with Bucky after the collapse of SHIELD. He was in my room when I woke in the hospital. Now I'm here and I'm happy. I get to help Bucky." I replied finally. "You're Steve.. I read about you in a museum.." Bucky said randomly. "Look I know you're nervous. You both are. But you're lying." Steve said. "Is this about the UN?" I asked. Steve looked at me and nodded. "It wasn't Bucky. He wasn't there." I stated firmly. "She's right. I wasn't in Vienna. I don't do that anymore." Bucky added.

The two talked and I went over to the door, shutting it then locking it. I turned and faced them, resting my back against the door. My eyes were closed, listening to their conversation till it zoned out. I felt scared. "Kill her." A man with a Sokovian accent had stated. I couldn't make out who the man was but I saw Bucky. He looked angry and sad but almost had a look of pain. Almost instantly I knew it wasn't actually Bucky. It was the Winter Soldier. "Y/N!" I heard Bucky yell, snapping me out of the vision instantly. I opened my eyes, seeing a grenade get thrown in through the window which had ricocheted off Steve's shield when he hit it. Another one landed inside and Steve used his shield to cover the explosion.

I looked straight ahead, trying to process everything and saw Bucky grab the mattress, using it to block another attack from the window. I whimpers in pain when I felt the police trying to use a battering ram against the door. I quickly moved and ran to Bucky, not knowing what to do. He pulled away, going to the table. I watched him take his left arm and hook it underneath the table to throw it across the room. I moved my way across the room and stood between the windows as people swung through. I watched someone land so I jumped up, getting on their shoulders. I used my thighs to squeeze his head then I started elbowing his head. He lost consciousness and fell to the ground. I threw myself forward, rolling off his shoulders falling to the ground then somersaulted and stood back up, watching Steve and Bucky. "You're gonna kill someone!" Steve yelled. I gave Steve a look of disgust and went to Bucky as he threw Steve to the ground before punching the floor. "Im not gonna kill anyone." Bucky replied.

He grabbed the backpack that was stuffed into the floor and threw it outside onto the building next door. Within seconds, people started shooting at us again. Bucky held me close to protect me then Steve stood up and hugged us both, using his shield to protect us. Bucky pushed Steve outside then walked straight ahead, holding up his left hand.  "Jump, Y/N!" Bucky yelled. "No!" I replied quickly. "Look, you have to. I know you have a bad fear now but you have to." Bullets clinked as they ricocheted off the vibranium. As they ricocheted, one missed Buckys  and got me in the back as I turned around to look at the distance between the buildings. I bit my lip as hard as I could to not scream in pain so I wouldn't worry Bucky.

A fear of heights had formed after I fell from the helicarrier into the water a couple years ago. "Okay.. alright." As the two fought the police, I decided to take the faster route and not go down the stairs to another level. I gave myself a head start and started running across the apartment, fighting the pain and jumped off the edge, using the ball of my foot to push me off. I moved my arms and legs, realizing I wasn't going to make it. Tears filled my eyes, thinking I was about to fall to my death before reaching towards the edge of the second building. I just barely had a grasp and screamed in pain after having my weight pull me down. I barely had a grasp and hung there.

"Bucky.." I cried, trying to get a better grasp. I hung there about a minute, trying to swing myself side to side to get my leg up. I hung there a little longer then felt hands grab me and pull me up. "Y/N.." Bucky voice broke, tears falling. "You're okay.." he placed a kiss on my head then looked around. "Yeah, I'm okay." I reassured, hoping he wouldn't notice that I'm lying. I could feel warm liquid oozing down my back. "Okay, come on then." Bucky said, grabbing my hand to help me up. We started running, Bucky grabbed his bag then before either of us knew it, another person in a catlike suit appeared. He used his feet to push Bucky to the ground. I watched him roll a few feet then Bucky stood up as I ran to him, helping him up. The other person got into a defensive stance, making claws come out of the fingertips of his suit. "Well shit." I stated, unamused, trying to think of who this unknown person could be.
