It was sunset, and you and the group were approaching the castelia city fair. It was still cold out, and there was snow on the ground. But that wouldn't stop the city from hosting the annual city fair.

"Woah! Look at all these people!" Iris exclaimed, looking around at the bustling fair grounds.

"Yeah! And there's a stage over there, I wonder what its for!" Ash said.

Cilan was reading an article on his phone about the fair, "It says there's gonna be a singing contest later! The prize is unlimited instant ramen packets!"

This made you perk up immediately, you loved those instant ramen packets, they were like, your favorite thing ever. But.... Singing? In front of all those people? It gave you the chills. You always liked singing, but not in front of people. You thought you had a decent voice, but you were worried what other people would think.

Then, something popped into your mind. You were feeling brave, like a sudden burst of confidence just shot through you.

"What if I... try to confess my feelings? Maybe it won't matter, Ash is too dense to understand those kinds of things. But, it won't hurt to try... and I really want that ramen." You thought.

"I might... sing." You confessed to the group.

"WHAT?!?!" They all yelled in shock, stopping in their tracks.

"Sing?! Sing what??" Ash asked, with sparkles in his eyes.

"Really?? Thats so cool!!" Iris exclaimed.

"Yeah! I didn't know you sang!" Cilan said, sounding excited.

"Well, I don't really... its just kinda something I do in private... heh" You said, looking down and kicking rocks with your hands behind your back.

"Well id LOVE to hear you sing!" Ash exclaimed, his eyes still sparkling. "Cmon, lets go to the stage! The performers are already lining up, it must be starting soon!"

He grabbed your hand and made his way through the crowd, shifting through all the people, leading you backstage.

You were backstage now, waiting to go on. You heard all of these amazing voices, but yours was just so... not.

But, you wanted to get this point across. Well, its not like Ash would think anything of it anyway, he's waaaaaay too dense for this stuff.

Either way, you figured you wold give it a try anyway. You knew just what song you would play....

You heard the announcer call your name out to the stage as the previous performers walked backstage.

"Well, there you go, (Y/N)!! Ill be right at the front cheering for you!" Ash said, giving you a big thumbs up, then heading off back into the crowd.

You thanked him and walked onto the stage.

You saw a lot more people than there looked to be before, your stage fright was kicking in. But you had to be strong, for Ash. You couldn't make a fool of yourself, he may think you're just a big, scared, loser and he won't want to travel with you anymore.

"Wait, no. Ash isn't like that, he wouldn't think that." You thought, correcting yourself.

Well, here goes. You were going to sing one of your favorite songs, while secretly confessing your feelings. Psh, Ash wouldn't even notice. But, it dint hurt to try, right?
