Emily and Jonah are now best friends with Catherine and are Freshmen in Highschool.....
"Hey Em why weren't you at church last night?" Jonah asked Emily while they were walking to their lockers before lunch. " I had stuff with friends." Emily said. "Such as?" "shopping" Emily said a little guilty. "Wait a sec. you missed Church for shopping?" "Yes, and now I feel really guilty." "Well as long as you feel guilty, though I don't know what your feeling guilty about." Catherine said as she walked up to meet them. " You should be feeling guilty too missy." replied Jonah. "You weren't at church either last night." " I was doing stuff with friends." "Wait let me guess you were shopping." Catherine nodded her head. "What has our generation come to!" Jonah said dramaticly. Catherine and Emily started to laugh. "You seriously haven't put two and two together have you Jonah?" asked Emily. "We were out shopping together for YOUR birthday that's I don't know tomorrow?!?!" Catherine added. "Oooooh well, I guesse, that's okay." Jonah replied. Catherine and Emily laughed.

The next Wednesday night the whole youth through a suprise birthday party for Jonah. "So did you have fun." Emily asked him after youth. " yeah it was great, and I especially liked the lesson. What about you?" " yeah I had a lot of fun and the cake was delicou...." Jonah interrupted. "I meant the lesson."
The lesson had been over how the decision of letting Christ in to your lfe makes a big difference in your life and how if you don't it would be a very bad change. Emily thought it was a little to intents for birthday party. (you know what else is intents? Camping!) Emily also still hadn't accepte Christ and sometimes felt as if it was the right thing but the next day the feeling would be gone so she would forget about it and move on with her life. Jonah had excepted Christ a year ago and Catherine followed soon after.
"Um, it was good I guess." Emily said after a second. "Emily you know if your ever confused about any of it you can go to me,Catherine, or your parents to talk." "Yeah thanks. can we change the subject please?"Emily said quickly. Jonah had had this confersation with her many times and like him asking her to Wednesday nights, it was getting old. The only difference was that her parents couldn't force her into this one even if they wanted to.
"So either of you going on the mission trip?" Catherine asked as she walked over. "Yeah I'm thinking about it." replied Jonah. "I don't know. I'm not big on being away from home." replied Emily, even though it wasn't true. Jonah was about to say something about it when he realized she was still thinking over their little talk.
The mission trip was to Honduras and they were going to do Bible studys with little kids, build wells, and help build houses. They would be there for a total of two weeks. Usually Emily would be excited about an oppertunity like this. She loved kids and teaching and infact that's what she wanted to do when she grew up, but at the moment she didn't know if she wanted to have anything having to do with Church. Especially if it meant that she was getting told over and over again that she needed to make this decision. She was done.
