𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡

1-The Mission

TRIGGER WARNING: Death, Minor swearing, Blood

It was supposed to be easy. In and out. What went wrong? Maybe it was because they walked into a trap. Galran soldiers flooded into the room where Keith and Pidge were, Pidge typing away on the tablet that was downloading data. "Shit." Keith breathed out. Pidge had her back turned to them so she had no idea what was happening, "What? What is it?" She was still furiously typing at her tablet. Keith turned his head towards her, "Are you almost done? We have company!" Pidge's head shot up at that, eyes widening "Shit. Can you hold them off?" Keith eyes widen, "Are you fucking serious?! There are probably hundred soldiers!" Pidge started to type faster if that was humanly possible, "Well, Just do what you can! Getting this data is important!" Keith nodded and activated his bayard. Seeing this, the first row of soldiers advanced towards him.
The sound of metal clanging was echoing through the room. Keith struggled to keep up with the rows of soldiers coming at him. He ran at them, bayard in hand. Suddenly their coms crackled alive and Shiro's stern voice was heard "Where are you guys? You have to get out of there!"
Pidge said "Come on Keith!" Keith said "I'll hold them off! Go!" Pidge said, grabbing his wrist, "Keith, it's not the time to play hero! Let's go!" He looked at her sympathetically and said "Km sorry Pidge." The red lion flew up next to them. It opened and Kieth put Pidge inside. She said "No! Keith no! Keith get in!" He said "Goodbye. Tell everyone I love them." The lion closed and flew off as Keith stayed behind, still fighting.
Keith attacked soldier after soldier. He was going to be fine. He told himself that. He was going to get out. He was hitting soldiers with his sword but it wasn't quick enough. He felt a warm liquid on his stomach and pain followed. He put his hand on it, panting for air. He looked down and saw blood spilling out, staining his armor. His vision started blurring. His legs wobbled and then gave up. He fell against the metal floor. The last thing he saw was soldiers surrounding him before his vision turned black.
Pidge was in the red lion screaming and crying out his name. She had lost one brother. She couldn't lose another. The red lion landed and it opened up. The others stood outside. Shiro was the first to speak "Pidge where's Keith?" She stayed silent. He asked again "Pidge where is Keith?" Pidge felt warm tears fall down her face. She said, forcing words out "H-he saved me." Shiro said "Pidge where is he?! This isn't funny!" Pidge said "He-He's still there. I'm sorry." Shiro looked down, memories of his time with the galra flooding him. He said, his usually strong voice breaking "He- he can't be." Pidge nodded, sadly. Hunk gasped. Shiro ran off. He knew the blade of marmosa had agents in that ship. Keith was going to be fine. The others followed him, thinking the same thing. If only that was true.
Shiro called Kolivan, trying to stay strong for the others. Kolivan answered "Why do you call?" Shiro explained their situation, his voice cracking many times. Kolivan said "I will call you back when I get news." The call was ended. Pidge was still crying, worried for Keith. Allura paced the room. Hunk was hugging Pidge, in tears as well. Lance was thinking about what come be happening to Keith right now. Shiro sat, trying to stay strong for everyone. He was the leader. He couldn't break. He had to stay strong for Keith and the others. Just stay strong.
