Waldo sips his tea daintily as he clears his throat.
"So what is it you had in mind you wanted to talk about? Is it about what places we will go next?" he says, smiling at you brightly.
"Waldo, I'm gonna be real with you, you're emotionally unstable, you kill people and there's this chaos that follows you." you say bluntly. "You won't tell me what those nightmares are about either, who was Steve? Why did he know you? There are so many things you're just.. not telling me and it's starting to seriously hurt me. Please just be honest with me." As you said this Waldo's leg starts to shake a little bit.
"Alright. I'll be honest with you about things then. Ask away" he says this without lifting his head, keeping his eyes shrouded.
"We'll start simple then. What are the nightmares about" you say. Keeping your ground.
"That's an effect I have when I am around people for too long. I don't know what the long term effects are" he says, still not lifting his head. Somehow this also felt like a lie, and you pressed further.
"Waldo is that actually true? That feels like an excuse to me. I asked for the truth."
"That's all I know about them!" He yells, finally lifting his head. His voice was panicked and angry. "All I know is that they happen. Wenda lost her mind trying to deal with them and I hide from her now." he continues. "I should really just go.." he says, starting to stand up. "From here on out you won't see me anymore."
"You don't need to be melodramatic about this Waldo please stay, we have more to talk about!" you say, doing your best to keep following him.
"I know but it's easier for me to just leave. I don't know why you were able to see me, I don't know why somebody who wasn't in the Waldo.. bubble could see me. I don't know why anything is happening. I'm pretty sure I'm the one losing my mind" he says before turning around. He turns around with tears in his eyes. "I'm losing my mind and so is everybody else around me" he points to the wall where you had punched a hole. "Clearly you're not doing well, I'm just causing you problems too. That's why I am going to just leave." Waldo dramatically grabs the doorknob and he stands there for a second. At this point your emotions are all bubbling up and you grab his shoulder.
"We could figure this out if you'd just.. talk to me." you say.
"Well. You're going to have to find me first" he says, before leaving the building.
