Draco

Draco took the potion and waited for Harry's footsteps to disappear before he hurried towards the mirror again. He did a spell and walks forward. He picked up the mirror and put it in his pocket.
Draco grinned silently and exited the Room.

"Potter," he says, "where are you?"

He walked faster and talked louder.

"Malfoy," he heard a response, "Stick to the left side so that we don't lose each other."
Draco perked at hearing Harry's scratchy voice. He relaxed his shoulders and drew a relieved sigh, quietly though.

Draco reached for the wall and felt along it to guide him.

The floorboards beneath him were creaking. He paused. The sounds, clunky and far away, continued.
His heart thudded against his chest and he pressed his body to the wall, waiting. He couldn't tell where the sounds were coming from. He looked behind him into the darkness which threatened to suck him in.

He turned into another corridor and saw two figures at the edge talking.

Tiptoeing he looked at them. He first identified Snape then saw the other person was Quirrel.

They seemed to be fighting. In a very serious way that made him feel uncomfortable and cold inside. There must be something wrong going on if it got two professors that serious.

As he passed, he saw Quirrel look at him. Sweat trickled down his forehead and he clasped his lips inwards. Quirrel held out his hand towards him.

"What are you looking at?"

Quirrel looked back at Snape, "it was nothing."
Draco tiptoed past. His legs were thinning beneath him, threatening to give way. He began to walk faster and bumped into something he couldn't see.

"Oh, it's you Potter."

"Blimey, Malfoy."

"What?"

"You're not invisible anymore."

"I...you're starting to become visible as well now."
Harry took Draco's hand and they hurried together to the dorms.

"Who's there?" They heard Filch's voice call.
Draco slid in the room after Harry and they both crouched to catch their breath.

"That was really frightening," said Harry.

"I know. My heart is beating so fast," said Draco, "feel it."

Draco snatched Harry's hand and placed it on his chest.

"Yes, yes, I can hear it beating," said Harry pulling his hand off seeming uncomfortable, much to Draco's dismay.

They both jolted as they heard someone say the password outside. The door creaked open. Harry found the crevice behind a couch and squashed into it, leading Draco towards himself.

"Come on, get down."

"Someone was in the hallway?" Asked Snape.

"I could have sworn I heard movement. Saw something too."

Draco felt Harry's hand squeeze gently around his. He couldn't see what was happening because Harry was on top of him, his other hand covering Draco's mouth.

He heard some shifting sounds and objects being turned over. Being unable to see made all those sounds worrying. He couldn't tell if they were getting closer.

"Should I call Mrs Norris in?"

Draco squeezed his eyes shut. He clung onto Harry more fiercely, but he was too dizzy to dare move away.

"I think that we ought to give it up. We've already made enough noise that might wake any of the students."

"Well alright," said Filch.

Draco felt a drop of sweat roll off his forehead.
The door finally shut and he breathed a sigh of relief under Harry's relaxed hand.

"Dammit, Potter."

"I know, Malfoy. That was so close."

"That's not what I mean. You're squishing my legs."

"I barely am touching them. But, sorry."
Harry shifted off. He peeled Draco's fingers off himself, and straightened his robe.
