Harry's perspective
"Hey. Dray, I think we both fell asleep."
Harry wondered frantically which universe they were in. He could not remember them returning.
Merlin's beard!
He looked up to the sound of crunching and flattening leaves. It was older Draco and he was heading their way.
With him was Crabbe, who surely had a growth spurt because he was towering.
Harry beggingly tapped Draco and moved him off his lap.
"Great sizzling dragon bogies, Draco, quickly get up!"
"I'm up now," said Draco and his eyes widened at seeing 'himself' and older Crabbe approaching. Rapidly he pulled out the Time Turner and made it spin.
"Harry, we made it. You can let go off me."
.
Draco's perspective
That was when Draco realised. He wanted to tell Harry what he really thought, how he had a terrible feeling that they made a mistake.
He just was too afraid to utter a word.
And Harry seemed to want to say something, but no words were coming out of his mouth either.
"You performed silencio, well done Draco. Works brilliantly during intense duelling."
Both the boys looked up and Draco gasped at seeing Professor Quirrel. Harry couldn't physically gasp but he rose to his feet and aimed his wand at Quirrel.
Draco was too frightened to speak but if he could speak he would accuse Quirrel of being Voldemort. Harry, who was braver, walked to Quirrel and tackled him to the ground.
The entire class started talking and screaming. They could hardly believe Harry Potter would assault the meekest teacher in the school. Quirrel crossly said, "Flipendo!" And Harry staggered backwards.
"HARRY POTTER, ARE YOU MAD? COME TO PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE'S OFFICE THIS INSTANT!" McGonnagal who had been walking past furiously burst at him.
Draco followed him and McGonnagal's eyes were slits, "where are you going?"
"Toilet," he lied. He kept a distance behind both her and Harry so that she would believe him.
"What's going on?" Asked the twins. They were both covered in slime which reeked of mischief. However, now their eyes were incredibly serious.
Draco's eyes teared up, "I made a mistake."
The twins exchanged surprised glances.
Draco knew that the twins in this universe, well, in any universe really, very much hated him.
"What is it?"
"It was really bad, okay? I messed up magic."
The twins were really confused now by Draco's puppy looking expression.
"You bullied Harry and now you regret it?"
"No I didn't bully him."
"Well, you sneakily put the blame of whatever you done on Harry, and now you regret it?"
"I didn't put the blame on him. He's not even in trouble because of what I did."
He thought about it then said, "well come to think of it, I guess technically he is in trouble because of what I did."
"Exactly," said Fred, but George was still unsure, "so what did you do?"
"I told you, I messed up magic."
"Did you try finite incantatem?"
"It's not because of a simple spell."
"Dark magic," Fred assumed.
"It wasn't dark magic either. It was time."
"So you didn't do a spell, you must have used a Minute Spitter."
"What's a Minute Spitter?"
"It spits at people's faces and makes them forget everything that happened in the last minute."
"Forget I asked," said Draco disgusted, "anyway, it's not your business, Weasleys."
"Back to his sassy self, I see."
"Acting like he wasn't being a crybaby just a few seconds ago."
The twins mocked Draco with exaggerated crying hand gestures.
"MR POTTER!" Draco jolted at hearing screaming from the office now that the door was open, "IF YOU WON'T EVEN SPEAK TO US HOW WILL WE KNOW HOW TO HELP YOU?"
"Blimey," said Fred, "McGonnagal is just about blowing up."
"We didn't think you were such a troublemaker," the twins greeted Harry merrily, but their smiles were a bit forced seeing as they both had their wands out ready to accio broom themselves out of there, their faces slightly paler than usual.
Harry clutched the red Gryffindor tie in his hand like he wanted to throw it away. He had a mostly pissed off look on his face.
"Finite incantatem" Draco unmuted Harry. Harry laughed out of nervousness a bit.
"I tried to tell them that I was spell-muted, but they just kept getting angrier."
Draco was extremely surprised because he knew if that was him in trouble, that he would have been terrified and even crying.
"But, why on earth was I wearing a Gryffindor tie? And wearing full Gryffindor uniform? And why did they take away points from Gryffindor, and not Slytherin?"
"Because you're in Gryffindor, Harry?"
"Oh no," muttered Draco under his breath and clenched Harry's wrist and dragged him away from the flabbergasted twins. He led him to a space in the wall and they sat down.
"I didn't want to believe it at first, but I really think we are in the wrong universe. The original one. The one where you're in Gryffindor, the House that you are supposed to be in."
"But Sorting Hat chose me to be in Slytherin."
Draco shook his head, "I went back in time and changed a lot of things to make sure you wanted to be in Slytherin. The Sorting Hat chooses us all according to the values we like, not necessarily for the values that we have. I made you want to be in Slytherin so that the Hat would sense that and put you into Slytherin with me."
"Dray, you've got it wrong. For starters, no offence but I really didn't want to be in Slytherin, and you weren't convincing either. Remember how I was so annoyed at you then because of what you said to Ron?"
"Did you hate me?" Draco was worried.
"No no nothing like that, how could I?"
"Then why did the Hat pick you?"
"The Hat picked me because I'm a Slytherin at heart."
"So you were meant to be in Slytherin all along?" Said Draco in confusion, "so in this universe the only reason why you're in Gryffindor is because you especially hated me then..."
"There are so many other possibilities Dray. For example perhaps this world's Harry happened to value the traits of bravery very much. But me Harry doesn't necessarily. You know what I value?"
Draco gulped and looked at Harry's lips, his heart rate slowly picking up from their closeness.
Harry smiled and pressed Draco's cheeks with his palms.
"I value ambition and true success. So let's forget about all that. You own an actual Time-Turner, you can do anything. We just have to be a little careful, that's all."
