"Interviews!" Anastasia exclaimed, running into a room full of outfits.
"Yes. Interviews..." Alan muttered, following her into the room.
"Oh! Stop being so glum Alan! This if fun! Fancy outfits! Getting interviewed! Developing a fanbase!"
"Yeah, but does any of it really matter?"
"Stop it with the glumness already, okay?! And yes, it does! Because we're going to win. Together. And be famous. Together. Be rich. Together. Together. Together!"
Alan smiled. "Alright Ana. Let's do this."
Later that night, all fifty contestants were lined up. The whole nation would be glued to their televisions for the duration of the day, a day of interviews.
Leo rubbed the silky material of his suit anxiously. I can't do this. He thought. Hello? I don't talk to people! Why not throw me in front of the whole nation!
"It's going to be fine Leo!" Hannah reassured him.
Anastasia appeared from out of nowhere, wearing a pink princess dress and a tiara. "Just remember the original Hunger Games. Go for a certain kind of personality, and market yourself! I'm going as lovable."
"I'm going for sweet." Hannah said, from where she was drowning in a fancy child's suit, in a dull purple.
"Mysterious." Said Michael, dressed in a midnight blue suit.
"Protective of my love." Alan said, appearing as suddenly as Anastasia. He wore a knight outfit, to fit with Anastasia's dress.
Elizabeth shoved Hannah out of the way, her red painted nails leaving scratches on her left hand. "Fierce. And lethal, I suppose." She said, an odd smile on her face. Elizabeth bowed mockingly, then twirled, her red dress spinning out. "Pick Leo."
"What? Why? Why are you all trying to help me?" Leo stammered.
"You're my friend. And Michael's too." Hannah said.
"I love helping people with fashion and personality tips." Anastasia said.
"To be honest, I'd just love more competition. So why not have someone loved by the nation be one of my kills? Hahaha... Hatred. So entertaining." Elizabeth giggled.
"I know." Alan said, pacing around Leo. "Awkward. Awkward can be adorable."
"Not bad." Michael remarked.
"Alright! So awkward it is then!" Anastasia exclaimed.
The announcer called someone’s name, and the child walked out to the stage.
