Returning to the Orre Region, 5 years after the events in Pokémon Colosseum, Cipher's back. Back to once again to plan on ruling the world. This time they grew in numbers, got a new leader, new admins and a different tactic.

Michael strolled back to where Robo Kygre was. He stepped in, started its engines and left Citadark Isle.
'His Pokémon were way too strong...'

As devastated as he was, Michael took his loss as an opportunity to take a rest back at the Pokémon HQ Lab. His mother being a mother asked him about everything. She meant well; she was just worried. The remaining hours of the day were used to think of ideas to form a plan B, listening to others' compassion and taking care of his Pokémon.

The next day was training day. Not just by using the Battle Sims System, but also by taking part in real life battles. Michael had become too strong for the lab staff to have a decent training. To be able to get his Pokémon the right training and right amount of experience, Michael traveled to Realgam Tower. That's where he participated in colosseum challenges. Now that his Pokémon were stronger than when he visited last time, Michael could advance to the next rounds, even reaching the finals multiple times.
His second destination: the Pre Gym in Phenac City. "Hi, Michael. So you remembered my e-mail?" "Actually I forgot. I've been busy, haha... But now you've mentioned it, yes, I remember." "Pre Gym has finally reopened. Michael, I'd love to have a battle with you. Will you accept my challenge?" "Yes, of course I will." Justy smiled. "At Pre Gym, four trainers and I await all challengers. First, you're required to take on the four trainers in knockout matches. You have to beat all four of them in a row. Those are the rules." "Okay, I got it." "Great, let's do it! Let's get you up on the stage!" Michael nodded and walked to the battle stage in the Pre Gym's centre. His spot was in the western corner. "Looks like you're all set." Justy said when Michael had taken his place. "Let's get started. Okay! Let's bring out our first trainer!" The elevator leading to the basement came up, revealing the first opponent. "Let me be the first to entertain you!" She said. "Crobat, use Wing Attack on her Ledyba. Aggron, use Earthquake!" The level gap between Michael and his opponent was rather big; the opponent's team went down without much effort. "You have a good feel for this. Keep it up over your next three opponents!" "Thank you. I will." The other three battles weren't very tough either. Aggron and Crobat were able to win all of them on their own.
'I think I might be a little too overpowered for this place.' Michael thought as his fourth opponent left the battle stage, feeling a little sorry for them. "Great job!" Justy applauded from behind his desk. "The hero of Phenac gets it done! I don't see any blind spots in your battle style. I finally get the chance to face you. Shall we have our battle right away?" "Since my Pokémon are doing fine, we might as well." "Great, let's do it! Let's get up on the stage!" Justy said enthusiastically. He then walked up to the battle stage and took his place in the eastern corner. "Are you ready? Here we come! Meet Cacnea and Sandslash!" "Crobat, use Wing Attack. Aggron, Double-Edge." "Come back. Go, Gligar. Sandslash, use Double Team!" "Crobat, Bite attack. Aggron, Double-Edge." "Come back, both of you! This is bad, haha. Nosepass, go!" "Use Confuse Ray and Iron Tail!" Nosepass fainted. "Oh, wow. I knew it! You are tough." "I'm sorry for going overboard." "It's okay. I'm not happy about losing, but I'm delighted about battling you." Justy started laughing, which sounded joyous, yet embarrassed. "What is it?" "Nothing, really. It's just that it has been five years since I lost like this." 'That long??' "I'd like you to have these as something to remember our battle by. I hope you use them. I'm sure they will help you." Michael recieved a Lum Berry and TM32 from Justy. "Thank you. It was a pleasure to battle you." "Battling you was a very meaningful experience for me as well. I'm sure I'll be looking back on our battle and relishing its memory for some time. Thank you."

Lastly, the knockout challenge at Mt. Battle was on the To Do List. Completing areas 1-3 gave him access to area 4 and beyond. Battle after battle was fought. The higher he climbed, the more thrilling the challenge became. Opponents became tougher and harder to beat. Especially when area 7 was reached. Michael was battling area leader Nocom on zone 70, trying desperately not to loose. He was able to take out his opponent's Espeon, Gardevoir and Alakazam. His Typhlosion and Houndoom weren't beaten since Michael's team had been weakened a lot already. Eventually, Michael lost the knockout challenge. "You must be disappointed." Nocom guessed. Michael withdrew his last Pokémon. "Haha, yeah, a little. But it was a good battle. It helped me with my training." "I'm glad to hear that." "But the next time I challenge you, I will be the winner." Nocom smiled. "I'll be looking forward to that day."
