-"She's still crying." My eyes lingered on Scarlet in front of me as I speak with Blake on the phone.
"She must be having a hard time now." Blake sighed heavily and even from the tone of his voice, I could make out that he was no doubt worrying about his sister. "Bell..," he cursed under his breath, "Bella of all people doing this to her?? And my mom too..." Blake groaned from the other side, "This is so fucking messed up!"
My eyes dropped on Scarlet again and it break my heart seeing the tears still haven't stop flowing out of her eyes. She looks so vulnerable at the moment and it took all my willpower not to near her and pull her into a tight hug to comfort her. I refused knowing that she even hang up on her family and turned off her phone, cutting everyone off. So what more can I do for someone who is not even a friend for her, except giving her some space to cool down from everything.
"She still doesn't want to talk to me?" Blake asked from the other side.
"I think its best to give her some space for now. If she's ready to talk, I'll persuade her to turn her phone on and call you."
Blake was silent. I heard a few shifts on the line as he ran his hand over his head in frustration. As a blood relative, I believe Blake felt as miserable as Scarlet. After a moment of silence, Blake the let out a heavy sigh as he said, "I trust you with my sister. Please look after her for me. If something go wrong, call me right away. "
After I respond him with an 'okay', I hang up the call and slid it in my front pocket. Then, my attention focused back on the blond-headed girl in front of me as I quietly following her while she let her sorrow out. After we left the wedding earlier, I brought her away from the building and lead her to the other side of the street where the area is less crowded and I believed Scarlet needed this kind of environment at the moment.
It was already 9 pm and been 2 hour since she started crying and also 2 hours of me tailing her quietly.
Whatever Scarlet was feeling at the moment, I know it was so fucking suck. Especially when it comes to the people she was so obviously excited to meet. I couldn't accept that Scarlet took a thousands miles flight for her best cousin, only to find out that the said cousin left the wedding unnoticed and even jotted down Scarlet's name as a substitute all the while knowing about the guy being a fucking rapist.
Never let me meet this woman.
It was getting so chilly and darker as we strolled along the park. She was only in her thin dress and I worried she might catch a cold if I let her stay out any longer. With that, I picked up my pace and slowly neared her to walk by her side. Tilting my head a little to have a proper look of her face, I noticed that her lips turned purple while her face flushed from the cold.
Without wasting any minute, I pulled off my blazer and gently wrapped it around her shoulder and that was when her green eyes which pooling with tears, finally dropped on the galaxies of my own. However, she was quick to look away to avoid me from looking at her and mutters a 'Thank you.'
"Are you feeling better now?" I asked her, trying to start a conservation.
She simply shook her head and I became flustered when she started to sob again.
Fuck! I should have stay silent!
When she suddenly stumbled upon a cracked tile and got her heels stuck inside the small hole of it, she once again turned into a crying mess. She tried pulling it out but she gave up on trying and squatted down to cry her heart out again in her knees. It hurt me seeing her so broken like this so, I squatted down beside her and ever so gently tapped her back with hope that this gesture could soothe her in any way cause my last attempt clearly didn't help.
