Just looked at some pictures of Wii u Link and read some theories about him and Ganondorf being friends.
And then I had the idea that Link might be adopted by the Gerudo. He was taught the ways of this people and cosiders himseld one. Then Ganondorf breaks free from wherever he was banished to and tries to reclaim the reign over the Gerudo. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the legendary hero lives among his own people.
It would be even more interesting if the Gerudo consider Link as their actual king, since there hasn't been a male child born since centuries. (I have the theory that there is only one male Gerudo alive at any given time and since Ganon never really died, there were no boys born.) Maybe Link even shows the traits of the leader the Gerudo look for.
