Locked in my Heart

School Dance

We arrive at the dance and everything is decorated beautifully. It looked like a real dance floor. The lighting, the music, the scenery was just perfect. Tadashi leads me in, us hand in hand. I was too distracted when I heard Tadashi say something. "I'm sorry...whaaa??" I asked. "Would you like to dance?". I smile and he takes that as a yes. The next song came on, and it was perfect. All of me by John Legend. I loved it. Tadashi then, pulled my in, filling in the gap between us. One hand, around my waist, the other holding my hand. We start swaying back and forth going along with the music. It was like heaven. It seemed as if no one was there. It was just him and I, in this magical trance of love. As the song got deeper into the chrous, I look at Tadashi. He turns his direction to me. We look into each others eyes. His eyes glance to my lips then back to my eyes. We both start to pull in. We were an inch away, my dream about to come true when-  "Can I have everyones attention"?. Tadashi smiles and I blush.  We pull away from each other, leaving us in that stance we were in the beginning. As I look to see who is talking my heart sinks. Merissa. Everyone turns their position to face her. "Hi everyone, I won't take long, I just wanted to make an announcement. All of you did an amazing job, keeping up with the first semester. But theres one person who I really want to show appreciation too." I was waiting for her to finish her little "congratulations" speech, so I could get back to dancing. "Honey Lemon". Merissa points at me and makes everyone start clapping. My face is sprung. Tadashi comes up behind me, joining in the clapping. I give a weak smile, hoping that they would stop. "She's just been so helpful and we have had a great year together". I actually made an appreciation powerpoint I made just for her." My bones were shivering in the inside of my body. I didn't know what was coming next.
