A couple of peaceful days passed in the forest where Edward and Emma had sought refuge. The decision of whether to venture into a nearby town weighed heavily on them, with Edward fearing that wanted posters about the two escapees might be scattered throughout the area.
"Man, I'd love to learn some magic right now," Edward sighed in disbelief, contemplating the unfamiliarity of this fantasy world.
Emma looked at Edward with confusion, questioning his statement, "Magic?"
"Yes, magic. I want to shoot out fireballs, conjure water, and much more," Edward explained to Emma.
Emma's interest sparked, "I want to learn magic too!" Her eyes shone brightly, but Edward burst into laughter. Slightly offended, Emma responded with a small slap on Edward's wrist. Regaining composure, Edward asked Emma to close her eyes. As she complied, he gently placed a small string bracelet on her wrist.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now," Edward said, revealing a black and white patterned bracelet on his own wrist. Emma was delighted with her bracelet and wondered how Edward got it. He shared that he had bought matching bracelets for someone special, but circumstances had changed, so he decided to give it to Emma. The bracelets would serve as a sign of recognition if they ever got separated.
"Alright, we should move on somewhere else. Let's go," Edward suggested, getting up and starting to walk, with Emma following suit.
Suddenly, an explosion echoed in the distance, prompting Edward and Emma to wonder what was happening.
"Give me a bit to cast a spell!" an unknown girl yelled.
"Alright, I got your back!" a big, tall guy in armor shouted.
"Hey, don't be yelling all the time," another unknown guy complained.
"It's fine. He can yell all he wants. We just need to capture these guys," another unknown man declared.
A group of people chased some bandits, and as the confrontation neared Edward and Emma, Edward picked up Emma and ran away from the escalating battle. Unfortunately, the bandits noticed them and charged, knocking them down near a cliff. With no escape route, Edward attempted to fight back, but the situation seemed dire.
Emma, panicked, called out Edward's name. In a decisive moment, Edward realized what he had to do.
"I'm sorry, Emma, but I must protect you at all costs," Edward said, releasing a roar as he charged at the bandit. With tremendous effort, he grappled with the bandit, propelling them both off the cliff.
"EDWARD!" Emma screamed, watching him fall.
"Live on, Emma, so you can go back to our world," Edward whispered to himself, closing his eyes and bracing for the inevitable. "Goodbye, world."
