Its been him from the start

Anna walk up the stairs Luke following her. He slouch on the girl's bed playing with some pillow. As Anna reach for her phone, it's start buzzing.

She contemplate the screen

-Anna? Luke ask gently
-it's, it's him, she says her voice shaking

She nod
-Do you want me to stay? Or do you want to be alone, he ask
-stay, she says pressing the green button, Hi isaak
-hey how are you? He ask
-fine... you? She ask looking at Luke while he mouth « put him on speaker » she press the speaker
-I'm happy now that I'm talking to you, Isaak respond
She chuckled a bit but really she just wanted to cry
Awkward silence invade the room
-so I was thinking maybe we could do something together since it's spring break soon? The girl's boyfriend propose
-yeah it's could be nice, she says with a fake smile on her face like her could see her.
Isaak continues to talk about all he would like to do during spring break with Anna. Not hearing her muffled sob.
-tell him! Luke whisper shout
-Anna are with someone? Isaak ask
-yes I'm Luke I just walked in tho, he lied

-her older brother, Luke says
-oh cool I'm Isaak her boyfriend.
-I know she told me..... anyway I'll leave you two, Luke says silently slouching back in the bed
-Anna you are still here? Isaak ask
-yes..... i need to tell you something, she says
-oh ummm go ahead, he says concerned.
- I ...I can't continue like that I'm sorry.

-I... I don't know anymore I thought I hated him but as soon as I came back I....
-wait it's Sam we are talking about, he says mad

Anna doesn't answer

The silence take possession of the three teens
-what are we gonna do? Isaak ask breaking the silence
-we could still be friends? Anna suggest
- SO THAT'S IT! YOU DONT WANT TO EVEN TRY! YOU GIVE UP BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT HIM ONCE SINCE YOU ARE BACK
Luke hold Anna in his arm while she is a sobbing mess.
-stopstopstop, she whisper but Isaak can't hear her on top of all the screaming he does
-I CANT BELIEVE YOU, I THOUGHT WE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL BUT YOU RUINED IT. OF COURSE IT HAS TO BE HIM! ITS BEEN HIM FROM THE START ISN'T IT! DO YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST THING YOU TOLD ME!!!??CAUSE I DO "sam i think we should take some time so please stop calling" IT WAS ALWAYS HIM NEVER ME! RIGHT?!
-sorry sorry sorry, Anna cry
- STOP !isaak you are scaring her! Luke shout
- you are still here?
Luke doesn't answer he takes away Anna's phone and press the red button.
Sarah run upstairs after hearing all the screaming from her daughter's room
- oh Luke! I didn't know you were here, wh what happened?
- I think it's best if Anna explains it by herself but right now she need to shower more than anything.
- ok? I'll run her a bath, Sarah says not sure about what to do or what to think about the situation.

The mom comes back some times later to tell Luke that the bath is ready. Luke drag Anna to the bathroom but tell her he will wait outside for her to come out when she'll be cleaned from all the sticky residue left from the slush.

An hour later Luke is sitting his back leaning on the door. He never stood up this fast when he heard the clicking sound of the door. Anna standing in the door frame, her makeup all smudged, her hair in a towel on top of her head, Luke can only guess they are still wet from the bath. She is wearing grey sweatpants and a black oversized T-shirt.
-oh Anna come here, Luke says opening his arm,
Anna didn't waist anytime and almost run in his arm despite the small distance between the two teen.
-it will be alright, he says in her ear.

Anna doesn't remember much off her night, she remembers crying a lot and she know Luke slept at her house because he is still sleeping in her bed. She open her phone for the first time and see a lot of missed call from Isaak. For her own health she decide to deal with him later, and to answer Alisha's text

Anna try continue her life like nothing happened but it's getting harder and harder with all the side eyes everyone is giving her. On the good side she is working more so she can't think to much about it.

-Anna I know you worked all day last week but could you please come in today? Her boss ask as soon Anna pick up the phone

Some times later Anna walk in the Starbucks she work at

-Love? I thought you didn't work this week, the girl's best friend says
-boss called so I came I don't mind working more if it help to think about something else.

She get ready, wash her hand and walk to the register to take the client's order.
-Hi welcome to Starbucks what can I get you today, she says
The client order then it's another client. Anna feel like a robot doing the same thing over and over. In the end she is sadder than before.
"Ten minutes left I can survive" she think to herself
-Hi welcome to Starbucks what can I get you today, she says without a smile.
-I'll get a grande iced white mocha with vanilla sweet cream cold foam. Says the boy in front of Anna
-alright....
the boy pays and Anna lift her head to see what he looks like and smile
-I was wondering how long it would take you to recognize me darling, Sam says
-Sam how are you?
-fine and you?
-I'm fine, she lies
-I don't believe you, come here, he says walking towards the end of the counter.
Anna follow him on the other side of the counter and when the get to the end nothing separate them. He grabs Anna's shoulder and pull them closer as she wrap her arm around his waist and hide her face in his neck.
-shh it will be alright, he says
They stay in this hug for the longest time.
In his arm Anna feel safe, she feel protected like nothing could happen to her. Sam gently kiss her forehead and whisper
- don't know what it is going on but you'll find a way to make things better.
She take a step back and he cups her cheeks stroking his thumbs across the girls wet cheekbones wiping the tears away.
He grab his order and say goodbye to Anna. He almost reach the door when Anna shout
-Sam wait!
He turn around confused while she run in his arm for another big warm hug.
