Cal had decided that he would go and find Armin since he hadn't seen him that day. He was always quite protective of Armin because he was constantly bullied. Cal had tried to get the older kids to leave them alone, but they only ever left if they saw Cal and Mikasa together, knowing they would get beat up themselves if they were caught. Armin was always bullied for his dream of wanting to go outside the wall.
Cal wouldn't say it out loud, but he also wanted to see what was outside of the wall. His sister, Caroline's was to see what the outside looked like. Unfortunately, unless by some miracle, the only way for her to be able to go outside of the walls, was if she magically got better within the few years she has.
Cal knew it wasn't gonna happen but he never said that to his sister because he didn't want to crush her dreams for the same reason he was encouraging Eren to do what he wanted to do. Because he wanted her to have dreams.
Cal was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard two child-like voices. One was louder and obviously older whilst the other was more small and timid. Cal leaned against the wall leading towards where the noises were coming from and immediately recognised the voice.
"SHUT UP, YOU TRICKY BASTARD!!" The older one yelled as he pulled the small blonde off of the ground and held him up against the wall. That was it for Cal.
He revealed himself from his dining space and ran up to the boy before he spun around and spin kicked him away from Armin. The blonde fell to the ground with a thud and gasped slightly at the sight of his saviour.
"What the --!" One of the other boys was cut off as Cal ran up t him and punched him square in the face. He went tumbling backwards as Cal shook his hand before he turned around and glared at the other one straight in the eyes.
He stood up straight and casually walked up to him with a chillingly calm look on his face. The other boy almost felt glued to the ground as Cal stopped a couple of feet away from him. Before he could blink, Cal brought his knew to his chest and launched his foot forward, kicking the boy with his heel square in the stomach. The boy keeled over and clutched his stomach as he coughed on the ground.
Cal shook out his fist a second time before he stared at the other boys who had stood up.
"You wanna say that again, buddy?" Cal calmly spoke as he glared at the two boys as the one behind him ran past him and towards his other friends.
"Come on, let's just get out of here!" He exclaimed as he held his stomach and began dragging his friends away. Cal 'tched' as he turned around at the sound of running feet. He relaxed when he saw Eren and Mikasa running up to them.
