Chapter 21

I walked out into the afternoon breeze, and started walking towards the forbidden forest, as soon as I entered the forest I saw Luna a bit further in.
I ran over to her as she looked back at me,
'Oh, hey Matilda what are you doing here?'
She smiled.
'I'm just out on a little walk to clear my head a little bit, what about you?' I smiled back.
'I like the silence and the animals in here, I find them very fascinating,' she giggled.
We carried on walking for a while until we came across a unicorn that was nibbling on a bit of grass, Luna softly placed her arm in front of me to stop me from walking.
'Look, there's a unicorn over by that tree, I wonder if we could get close enough to pet it, but I don't want to scare it,' she whispered.

The unicorn looked up at us and Luna walked over slowly towards it as I watched, the unicorn slowly walked towards Luna as well until a pack of wolves ran towards the unicorn and it sprinted away, the wolves took one look at us and sprinted towards us.
I grabbed Luna's hand and dashed towards the castle.

As soon as we got to Hagrid's hut the wolves ran the other way, "phew that was close," Luna panted.
"I know right," I said trying to catch my breath.
We walked up the hill to the castle still struggling to catch our breath, We hadn't been out for that long but it was already dark, when we entered the castle, we went straight into the great hall. I walked over to where Pansy, Blaise and Draco were sitting and sat down next to Draco giving him a small kiss on the cheek.
'Are you feeling better?' I asked looking towards Pansy.
'Yeah I'm alright now,' she smiled.

Draco leaned towards me and whispered so only I could hear, 'where were you?'
I couldn't say I was with Luna because he would give me a whole lecture about how I shouldn't hang around with someone like her, someone loony as he called her so I twisted my words a little bit.
'I was out on a walk' I said, which wasn't entirely a lie, placing food on my plate.

'You're lying, I'll ask again and this time I want the truth, where were you.'

'I saw Luna when I went out and we went into the forbidden forest and then got chased by wolves some wolves,' i huffed, I realised saying it out loud that it didn't sound realistic, but it was what happened.
I turned my head and Draco was still leaning close to me staring at me, and giving me a death stare, I stared back straight into his cold, greyish eyes, until he looked away, 'fine,' he muttered and turned back to the food.

After dinner I stood up and grabbed Draco's hand and walked towards the common room.
When we entered we sat down on one of the black leather couches, Pansy and Blaise came in a little after us and sat opposite us.
'Have you guys packed for the holidays?' I asked.
'Yeah blaise and I are ready, I told my mum I'm coming to yours for the holidays as well so it's all good,' Pansy answered.
I nodded, Draco, who was laying on the couch with his head on my lap looked up at me, and said, 'wait do we leave tomorrow?'
'yes and please don't tell me you forgot to pack,' I said.
His eyebrows raised up and he stood up, 'erm, I have a few things to do,' he said as he ran up to his dorm.
Pansy, Blaise and I let out a small laugh knowing that he 100% had forgotten, I stood up after him and went to his dorm.

I walked in, as the door was unlocked and saw him rummaging in his wardrobe pulling out clothes and shoving them into his suitcase.
I giggled a little before sitting on his bed and taking them all out, folding them and putting them back into his suitcase.
We carried on packing his things until I came across a few letters on a pile on his bedside table.
I read the beginning of it and immediately stopped reading realising that it was very personal since it was from Lucius, the beginning began with a type of threat.
I turned towards Draco, holding up the letters in one hand, 'what's this?' I raised an eyebrow.

He scurried over quickly grabbing the letters from my hand and going behind me to place them into the drawer.
I turned towards him again, 'Draco, I know that you probably don't want to tell me but please do, you're keeping things from me but yet you get annoyed if I don't tell you where I was. I want to help you with whatever you're going through but I can't do that if you don't tell me,' I said. We stood there in silence until Draco turned around and pulled out the letters.

A/n: I'm sorry to leave this on a cliffhanger but I've been trying to write the next chapter to post them both and it's taking a bit too long so I decided it's better to give u at least one rather than nothing, hope you're all safe, and doing good.
