Chapter 28

The day came where we had to return to Hogwarts, we were all packed and ready to go.
When we arrive at platform 9 and 3/4 we joined everyone on the express and found our seats.
I left my things with Draco and went to see everyone else. I ran into Luna, "hi! how was your term off?"
"Perfect, what about you?" I answered with a smile.
"Same as usual but I managed to go out more this time," she smiled, and carried on walking.
Next I saw Hugo, sitting by himself in one of the compartments, so I joined him.
"Hello, how was your holiday?" I asked.
He looked up, shocked to see me."o-oh hi I didn't notice you sorry, it was great what about you?"
"It was great too," I answered.
"I missed you, you know,"
"We weren't even away for that long, but I missed you too," I smiled lightly.
Just then I looked out the compartment door and saw Draco, walking away.
Hm Strange, what's he doing down this end?
"So are you still dating him?" Hugo asked.
"Yes, yes and it's going really well," I smiled to myself, fiddling with my fingers.
"That's nice," he said looking down at his shoes.
"We'll I'll be going, I'll catch up with you later?"
I said.
"Yes, yes alright see you later," he looked up at me as I stood up and left the compartment.

I went back to Pansy, Blaise and Draco where they were sat at our usual table. Draco, looked more upset than I'd left him. I struck up a conversation with Pansy and Blaise but Draco didn't even mutter a word. They went off into their own conversation so whispered into his ear, "hey, what's going on?" as I slid a piece of his hair back, away from his ear.
He turned to face me, pure anger in his eyes, "I saw you with him,"
He muttered back, I sighed in disbelief, " you were talking about how you missed him, sound familiar?" He whispered through gritted teeth.
"Oh come on you know I like you and only you, not him, not anyone else, I can't believe you'd even think that I'd pick anyone else over you,"
He looked up at me, a bit more relaxed, "you're right, you're right. I'm just a little tense that's all, I'll be fine," he whispered into my ear. I placed a kiss on his cheek as he slid his hand around my waist and rested the other across him onto my thigh, I layer my head onto his shoulder and slowly nodded off.

"M, M come on, wake up, we're here," he whispered. I slowly opened my eyes and saw everyone getting ready to get off, I rubbed my eyes and stood up pulling the bags down.
"Let me," he stood up and grabbed our bags, I pulled my arm around his back as we headed up towards Hogwarts.
As soon as we got back to my room he dropped off my bags and left for his room, we were already in our gowns but we just needed a bit of time to settle back in.
Pansy in the bed opposite me was already taking her clothes out and putting them away, we had a chat while putting our stuff out and when she finished she started to head out for dinner, "hey are you coming?" She asked.
"I'll be down in a sec," she nodded walking out the room.

A few moments later, someone knocked on the door. I opened it and there stood Draco, with a bouquet of Peruvian lilies, how does he know I like these flowers?
"You know that you don't have to knock right?" I laughed a little.
He handed me the flowers, "what are these for," I asked him.
He walked in and closed the door behind him, he wrapped his arms around my waist, "I'm sorry for how I was acting earlier and before as well, you're right I should trust you more, I'll work on it and I'll get there." He looked into my eyes.
"Ooh," I chuckled a bit, "it's fine, don't even worry about it, you did not need to do this I understand that you might need a little bit of reassurance and it's fine I can deal with it, I mean I need it too sometimes, it's normal."
He leaned in and kissed me slowly, "you're perfect do you know that."
I turned bright pink, and looked down.
"Matilda.. I love you," he whispered.
I snapped my head up to look at him in awe.
I never expected him to say it, let alone be the first out of us to say it, I put my hands up to his face and pulled him down and kissed him slowly but passionately.
"I love you too," I whispered back, with a little giggle.
He smiled, more than I've ever seen him.
I placed the bouquet into a vase of water and we headed down to dinner.

After dinner I kissed him goodnight and went towards my room. I was all ready for bed when Draco slid in through the door, "hey what're you doing here? you need to go to sleep," I said.
"We'll Pansy and Blaise are sleeping together in our room, so I came to sleep with you," he said sliding under the covers.
He pulled into closer to me, placing his arms around my waist and resting his head on my chest. I played with his hair, brushing it back with my hands. I kissed his forehead as I dozed off.
