Chapter 5

I still felt groggy even walking to history; Eric still sat in front of me. We acted almost as if the whole scene in the hall didn't happen.

"Sir John Macalester is the first vampire to make peace with humans in the early nineteen hundreds. He made the vampire rights amendments and brought all of us out of the shadows and this every school used to be his home, in nineteen thirty five he and his family were staked and they were entombed in these walls." Mr Holmes said loudly pacing back and forth. I wrote down the notes that were on the board. Some nerd raised their hand and asked where. Mr Holmes stopped

"No one knows." He called out.

Eric turned around and yelled "STOP IT!!!!!" I was wide eyed in shook.

"What?" I whispered.

"I SAID STOP IT RENTA!" He yelled again. Mr Holmes walked up to us looking mad.

"Is there a problem here?" He asked .

"Renta won’t stop throwing stuff at me." Eric lied making it sound so believable.

"Both of you go fix it yourselves in the hall." Mr Holmes ordered seeing us out and then he slammed the door behind us. I glared at him with crossed arms.

"What the hell man?" I said, you could hear how pissed off I was by the tone of voice I used. He chuckled a bit and smiled.

"It’s the only way I could talk to you and you will have to answer." I popped my hip out so I was standing with attitude. I looked at him with the WTF face.

"I've been trying to talk to you for a while but you've been ignoring me." Eric said.

"Have not." I smacked back.

"Have too." He kind of mimicked me. I shook my head. "Like when." I asked uncrossing my arms to give him some respect.

"Last night when we were outside you left when I was about to say something." Eric's eyes were different they were darker like a midnight shade of blue.

"Okay what were you about to say?" I was getting impatient. His head kind of tilted to the left. Eric didn't say anything for a few minutes. I lost my patience.

"Okay here is what you wanted to say to me." I said angered.

"You wanted to tell me you're sorry for cheating on me with a Barbie. Like I understand you're looking for yourself but you could’ve told me before you went off with whom ever that was." I shouted at him.

"I was just testing, it meant nothing." Eric bagged for me to be his arm candy again.

"What would’ve happened if you liked it? I still wouldn't have known." I responded quieter then before. He looked at me.

"I don’t want you to stay with me if that’s how you felt and I just want you to be happy." I justified walking up to him with open arms. He hugged me back.

"I'm sorry." He whispered. I sighed

"Yeah I know." I laughed pulling away from him. We walked back into the class room and resumed to the pile of work on our desks. I sat down and started to work on an assignment that every one else was doing. The phone on the teacher's desk rang, Mr Holmes answered. I knew something was up because his face went paler than he already  was. His eyes scouted out for some one because his eyes moved through the crowd. Just before his eyes fixed on me I shot my head down so I looked like I was doing my work and being little miss noisy. He put the receiver down and cleared his throat.

"Renta Bluefox. You are needed else where." He called out, he sounded like Derek Rain from Poltergeist the Last Legacy. My gut clenched into it felt like every organ in me turned into a jumbo ball and was bouncing around inside me. I stood up gathering my papers and shoving them into my note book for History and I jammed the note book into my bag not caring what condition they were in. I could tell something wasn't right, it was like when that kid died last week and I just knew the air around me didn't seem right. I went from a fast walk to a jog and then I began sprinting when something in my mind told me some thing happened to my family. Emotions ran through me a million miles a minute. I ran through the now busy halls.
