Chapter 13

Glarring at myself in the mirror didn’t help the fact I looked like the person I sworen never to be again. The black bob made me feel fifteen again. Fifteen, huh, Before I moved to central New York I lived every where in between here and Narrowpoint Dallas. I hated short hair, I’ve grown my hair out since then and now it’s back to the way I hated it. Maddy has never been so demanding but when I stood there in a towel instead of getting dressed she can get quite bossy. Smiling at a random memory was all I could do. I remembered an old crush I had Bobby Winters, he and I like each other since grade two and then he moved away in grade six. He and I were colours and a rainbow, just not right when not together. He was around before Claudia my best friend who. . .well you know. Bobby had blonde shaggy hair and piercing blue eyes, last time I saw him he was five foot one and eighty pounds. The merky memory was making me happier because Bobby was the one to teach me that being a team leader wasn’t the only thing.I got dress into my green tee shirt, leather jacket, track pants and my red all stars. Changing wasn’t a big deal since we’ve all seen those parts before what difference does it make? I caught a glimps at L.C, he was looking at me smiling, I knew he was back to his old self which made me feel better about him.

“We should get going if we’re going to make that train.” Tyler spoke up. I nodded in agreement. We packed up and headed out. Walking was nice, getting fresh air. We stuck to the alleys instead of main roads. Walking in slience was the best thing we could do, remembering my old life is what kept me going. What kept me going then is one day I might actually be human. The suns rays were easing down by the time we got the train station. We got checked in and seated, I sat with Maddy in a booth like thing, it was cool because it was like Harry Potter. I liked to watch movies on my own time. My eyes krept to my human. Every thing about Maddy said she was home sick. “Hey.” I said making eye contact with her.

“Hi.” She kept her eyes to the ground.

“What’s wrong?” I asked sympathecticly.

“Nothing.” She lied. I wanted to keep it at that but she’s my responcibility as my human.

“Miss your family?” I asked with caution. Maddy had glassy eyes, a flushed face and sniffley nose.

“Do you miss your family?” I asked again, she nodded.

“I haven’t been honest with you.” Her head stayed facing down. I felt my eyes widen and stare at her.

“I haven’t been honest of what I am and how I got here.” Her voice was flat. Eurgs told me to slap her or shake her silly till she talks.

“What do you mean?” I asked quietly. She smiled and shook her head.

“Never mind it’s stupid.” She daddled.

“No tell me.”

“It’s a very long story and it’s complicated.” Maddy stalled.

“I think I can keep up.” I demanded. She hesitated for a minute keeping eyes away from me.

“Well it started on my twenty first birthday and a few friends toke me to a club, and I was introduced to vamp blood, I remember it made me feel so good and strong.” She paused.

“One thing led to another and I got addicted, I would do anything to get money for it.” She stopped.

“Anything meaning prostituting?” I asked, she nodded. “And I met this guy who said he would give me a place to stay with food and water. And vamp blood if I did some things for him.” She breathed. I wasn’t sure if she meant sex or working, I didn’t bother to ask since it was kind of a personal question.
