She awoke the next morning to the sun filling in her room. Abigail sat up and realized that it was not her room and the previous day's events were not just a bad dream or story. She sighed, which was followed by a yawn. She sat up and stretched, rubbing her eyes in the process. She looked out the window just above the side of the bed. It looked to be around, midday. Now that it was light, she could see what the room looked like. It was fairly simple. It had a small chest of draws, a mirror, the bed and a few ornaments here and there. The thing that caught Abigail's eyes was a small porcelain tea set on the top of the chest. As she got up to take a closer look, Jasmine appeared at the door.
"Mornin' Sunshine," she said happily. She still appeared to be in pajamas and held two mugs in her hands.
"Oh! Um, Good morning," Abigail said with a slight courtesy. Jasmine raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
"You don't need to do that. I'm just a person. Well, sort of. Anyways, I just thought I'd bring you some hot cocoa. It's made from the beans harvested on the island. It's fairly strong and pretty bitter so I added four cubes of sugar," Jasmine said handing her the mug.
Abigail took the mug and stared down at the brown mixture.
"Thank you very much," she said sleepily, and took a sip. It was hot and tasted of melted 90 % cocoa chocolate. She smiled as it went down her throat. Jasmine half-smiled.
"Anyways, the shower's through there. Better shower while its still daylight, the water cools down at night. And if you want, you can borrow some of my clothes in the drawer. I'm a small seventeen year old, so it shouldn't be difficult to fit your size. I'll be upstairs if you need me," she said before turning around to leave. Abigail remained silent for a moment but found her voice as Jasmine was leaving.
"Jasmine?" She said softly. The jet-black hair stopped.
"Thank you kindly. For rescuing me back there last night," she said just as softly. Jasmine turned around and winked at her.
"No sweat. Just make sure you have a backup plan next time you wanna' have a near-death experience," she said with a smile before leaving. Abigail finished the hot chocolate and had a quick shower. The water and soap stung her cuts and abrasions, but soon soothed them as the ocean water did. When she got out, she changed into the first thing she saw in the drawers- a plain black t-shirt, a pair of three-quarter jeans and her own trainers. She brushed her hair and tied it back and looked at herself in the mirror. She was hardly recognizable. She had cuts all over her body and her clothes were different to the elegant dresses she wore only two days ago. Her face was pale and she wore no makeup, which was another change. Her hair was also tied up into a normal ponytail instead of down in soft, wavy curls. She looked like a normal girl of her age. She sighed at her reflection and made her way up to the 'room' she was in last night. She was greeted by three new faces, as well as Jasmine, Star and Ash.
Aside from the two she knew, there was a boy, presumably the eighteen-year old Nate, who had blue-green eyes and dark, medium-length hair. He had broad shoulders and was a bit shorter than Ash. The second stranger she spotted was probably Chase. He had blonde hair and amber eyes to compliment them. He was slightly taller than she and was quite lean. The last person was a little girl with long, brown plaits. She had large blue eyes and held a small doll in her hands.
"U-um... Good morning everyone," she said. Jasmine turned to her.
"Oh, hey, you're done. This is Chase, Nate and Nova. Guys, this is Abigail. She's a princess," Jasmine said, introducing her to the three who didn't know her.
"Hey," said the one called Nate. He appeared to be writing something and did not look up. The other boy, Chase, stared and smiled at her gently and said on simple word,
