"How was your flight, Fern?"
I never liked the idea of travelling. Heck, I don't even like the sight of city lights and busy streets. I prefer to be in my home because I easily gets homesick. It's kinda sad actually.
"The flight was terrible. You don't have to ask the obvious, okay?"
"Explore the world, Fern. Don't get stuck in Switzerland."
Wearing a classic blouse paired with a bold floral print dress, I can't believe how hot it is to be here in the Philippines. If I have known, I probably could've done something better with my outfit.
"How unfortunate. It's already summer here in the Philippines yet this van is not even air-conditioned."
There's also a packet of French fries.
"By the way, where are we going? I kind of heard that Tita Lousiana's gonna do a beach wedding. Is that true?"
"Yes," He quickly answered. "Nag-rent sila Tita Lousiana ng private resort for the whole month of May. So basically, walang mga tourists doon maliban sa atin."
"Wow. I miss beaches." I whispered, waves of memories crashed through me.
"I haven't seen them for a while now. How are they doing? They haven't contacted me for about two months."
If you want to know about their whereabouts, you should ask Gideon."
"Gideon? Why him?"
Masyadong strikto."
Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya. Ate Maya and Serafica are my siblings. Four years ago, they came here in the Philippines to pursue business and management. I really feel very ill when I get homesick. I love the everyday view of my garden so it's very hard to go somewhere else and stay there for good.
I actually don't have any idea why they chose to start business here in the Philippines when there's a greater chance of success in Switzerland. For a moment, I felt genuinely sad for Kuya Simon.
