Lily's POV
You think you know me?
Think again.
I stared at Xuan Lu, stretching my neck, while my nails ticked on the table through the quiet silence followed by the ticking of the clock when Jiyang entered.
He closed the door behind him carefully, checking twice if anyone was outside there, perhaps listening with us before he came and sat down next to Xuan Lu; in front of me.
"You," I said, pointing to Jiyang, "was hired by them, but what the hell are you doing here, putting yourself in danger!" Xuan Lu smiled at me, winking.
"Come on, Lily, I know you worry about me, but I am not a baby anymore." Jiyang and I shared a look before I rolled my eyes and started ticking my nails impatiently.
"This is what you've been searching for I guess," Xuan Lu said, passing the papers over to me while I glanced at the door; no one.
I slowly took the papers, and quickly looked at them, this was indeed a transcription of an enormous amount of money, but no full evidence yet, "there must be more."
Xuan Lu smiled, not her usual playful smile anymore, "there is." She passed me a USB in the form of a small pink lotus, making me smile.
Xuan Lu probably understood it from the moments she heard about the assassins of the white lotus she knew I always loved Lotuses, and when our bodies got never found, it was enough evidence for her to believe I was alive with the others.
"What's on the USB?"
This time it was Jiyang who answered my question with a deep sigh, "a fight, a confession, and a crime." I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Remember when you were younger? You were extremely cautious, even begging your parents to have hidden camera's the house to assure yourself that the monster doesn't exist." I nodded at Xuan Lu's words, slowly because it was a fact my brain had closed out after the accident.
"Monsters exist, they aren't what I assumed they were, they are humans, living under us." They both nodded at my words before Jiyang once again took the lead.
"Basically no one knew about those hidden cameras except for you, and your parents, and someone else, someone you might have long ago forgotten about already." What?
"Fate seems to play funny games because it seemed like you told one boy you once met about those cameras in your house, keeping your safety, and you had shown him where you lived, and guess what? That person grew up to be the police, and one more coincidence, he remembered every one word you had told him." I turned to Xuan Lu, the pieces slowly falling together.
"That boy-"
"Yes, it was Haoxuan." I turned to Jiyang, my eyes widening, realizing what I had told him gave us all the evidence we indeed needed to have to determine everything that happened that night.
"Both Wang Yibo's parents were there that night, I had heard them." I looked sideways to Jiyang while keeping my gaze on Xuan Lu, who nodded confirming what I had heard wasn't just my imagination.
I never was quite sure if I had imagined their voices that night, but having the confirmation made me heaven a deep sigh as if a huge burden fell off my shoulders.
"So that means, all the information together is more than enough to confront them." Jiyang nodded at my words while I leaned back in my chair, the puzzle was placed together, finally, after all these years.
The last thing that was awaiting was the revelation to the world-
"Are you going to take the right heir back as a princess?" I closed my eyes, letting Xuan Lu's question unanswered, it was a question I had been asking myself countless times.
"No, I won't, the night my parents, the queen and the king got assassinated was the night that Xia'er died, Lily was reborn, and I will never be the same princess I used to be ever again, I can't help it, but I don't think they would like a sassy former assassin as their princess." I chuckled lowly, holding back the painful flooding recollections of the past that had been buried for decades.
"Then what will you do after this massacre finally comes to an end, who will be left, who will you be when you're not Xia'er and not Lily?" Jiyang sounded desperate, he had kept hope for me being the person I once used to be, but she died, died with her parents when I crept under the blankets that were soaked with my parent's blood.
"When this all end, I will be a creature of the darkness, I will withdraw to the background and live a peaceful life, and perhaps someday will I write a book about this all, clearing my perspective, why I did the things I did and why I chose the choices I chose."
A silence dawned upon us while I opened my eyes with a soft flutter, taking a deep breath before sitting straight up, crossing my legs.
"Over a week Yibo's wedding which is going to be a forced one, they will somehow threaten Yibo, I am not sure how yet, but they will, that is the perfect moment, they're rich and arrogant, they can't wait to show off, so what's better than to embarrass them at exactly that time?"
Xuan Lu laughed, shaking her head, "you really don't show a bit of mercy, huh?"
I glared at her, "they didn't give me any mercy at all too, I was a kid, but you know, I am not that kid anymore."
"What do you need?" I smiled at Jiyang, making him groan, he knew I was gonna ask something, so I flashed him a quick smile while he rolled his eyes at me.
"I need a good hacker who can help me in the process." A mischievous smile that I definitely did not like appeared on Xuan Lu's face, and both Jiyang and I shared a worried look, embracing ourselves for the upcoming words she was going to say.
"I know an amazing good hacker, but he might not like you very much . . ."
"Who?" Both Jiyang and I asked the same moment, making a dangerous glance I knew all too well appear inside Xuan Lu's eyes.
"Wang Zhoucheng . . ."
