Flashback:
"Excuse me, umm...actually I bought this shirt from this store a couple of days ago and I'd like to return it."
It was a usual Wednesday morning and I was doing my usual job as a cashier at 'Twenty Four Seven' store. I always imagined if I would ever meet my prince charming there one day, considering the fact that I hadn't met him yet. But I definitely did not expect to be met by a pair of eyes that did not make my heart flutter. Had I known that this set of eyes would set my whole body on fire in the future, I don't know what would I have done.
"Yes sir. Can I please check the receipt and warranty card of the product?" I asked with all courtesy. He handed me all the required things and I did what I was expected to. I got his refund done. What I did and wasn't expected to was take another look at his appearance.
He wore a grey sweatshirt and black sweatpants. His beard had overgrown and apparently the black hair on his head too. It looked as if he didn't care about how he looked, unlike many people his age. His age? Well, it must be around 23 or something close to that.
"Thank you so much." His blue eyes met mine and left the store. Like all the millions of other customers who had walked in and out of that store, I never expected to meet him again. Little did I know.
Present:
"Brooke, get up. Babe, it's one in the afternoon already." I could barely hear his voice. I was half awake and half sleeping. Wait, what did he say? Is it one already?
I immediately sat straight up on my bed and whined "Why didn't you wake me up earlier? Will, you know that I'm a deep sleeper so you... -So Noah you should have tried harder to wake me up." I covered up to hide the horrendous thing that I had just said.
Just yesterday Noah and I had a huge fight because of Will and I couldn't let that man become a hurdle in my life anymore. I had to get him out of my mind and my life.
'But how will you get him out of your heart?' asked my inner self and I pushed its voice into the deepest corners of my thoughts.
"I tried. We both tried quite hard but apparantely you were too tired because of stress. I know the past few days have been harder for you due to the release of the book and those events you do and that's why I decided to let you sleep. Also, you'd be extremely shocked to know that Samuel and I cooked breakfast for you."
"Good Morning, Mommy! Afternoon, if I might add." said Sam who waltzed into the room with a platter in his hands covered with a lid. He must have surely created a mess while taking out that platter and I'll have to take care of that later. I made a mental note for that.
I smiled "Good Afternoon." and watched Sam as he carefully placed the platter on the white sheets and unveiled the breakfast that they made for me. It was poached eggs with coffee and toasts. Of course, how would they know that I quit eating eggs a long time back.
They both looked at me expectantly, especially Sam as I took a bite of the egg and drank coffee thereafter.
"Just the perfect breakfast to start my weekend."After breakfast or more aptly lunch, we decided to go to the mall nearby our apartment. I agreed because I knew how badly had Sam wanted to go there ever since they opened a store exclusively for 'Star Wars' goodies.
"You're the best Mommy. Thank you for taking me to the mall. I had wanted to go there since forever." Sam said as we walked out of the apartment. Noah unlocked our old Ford car and we set off to our destination.
After a short ride of 10 minutes, we finally reached our destination. Sam couldn't contain his excitement and practically jumped out of the car the moment it came to a halt.
