Izzy could admit she felt stupid. Her mom had left for work and now she had nothing to do since she had never asked Demetri for his number. She had decided to take another walk down the beach. She needed a break from reading and she usually didn't work on any projects so early in the morning.

There weren't many people out, to be expected. Mainly surfers were out at this time, wanting to get the best waves that usually came in around this time. Izzy had gone to surf camp one year to learn, but she had quit the second day due to getting stung by a jellyfish.

In her defense she was much younger back then and afraid of everything she saw. Nowadays, the only things she was afraid of were things that encouraged violence and the ocean didn't make it on that list. Her giving karate a chance was a big step and she hoped she wouldn't regret it. The dojo in the ad seemed pretty against violence.

"Izzy!" Izzy turned to the voice and saw Demetri running over to her. Well, Izzy thought it was supposed to be running. "Hey! I got home yesterday and realized I never got your number so I figured I would come to you. Are you busy?"

"Not really. Just looking for something to do."

"Well how about I take you on that tour now?"

Izzy smiled at the boy and nodded. "I would love that actually."

"Great! Uh." Demetri put his elbow out. "M'lady?"

Izzy giggled and linked arms with him before they both left the beach.

"How do you drink this?" Izzy laughed as Demetri painfully swallowed the boba tea.

"It's really good. You just have messed up tastebuds."

Demetri put his drink down and shook his head. "I think you're the one who has messed up tastebuds. Who doesn't like chocolate?"

"It's gross! I've tried it 5 times and hated it every single time."

"Like I said. You have the messed-up tastebuds. Please tell me you at least like chicken tenders?"

"Of course I do. Who doesn't like chicken tenders?"

"Ok good. I was about to say we should part ways, but it looks like you're a decent food critic."

Izzy laughed and took another sip of her drink. "So what do you like to do for fun, Demetri? You said you weren't the sports type."
