Chapter 37: Long Time no See

Somewhere in America

The girl got out of her bed and kneeled to grab the bag she had packed the night before from underneath her bed. She placed on her shoes and threw on her jacket. The girl was tying her dirty blonde hair into a ponytail when her phone buzzed.

Alex: I'm outside

Me: oky be there in a min

The girl grabbed her backpack and her baseball cap before opening her window. She looked back at the room before leaving through the window. She spotted Alex's car and she quickly ran over there hopping in within seconds.

"Isn't this illegal in all ways" He laughed turning to look at the girl.

"You said if I ever needed your help you would help me" The girl said buckling her seatbelt. The boy chuckled but his smile soon faded into a frown.

"Are you sure about this?"

"There's no other way so it has to be true"

The boy switched the gear and began to drive. It was about a thirty-minute drive of them talking and laughing with each other until they finally arrived at the airport. The dark haired boy stopped the car and sighed. An awkward silence took over and the girl was quick to smile sadly.

"Call me when you land" Alex chuckled but it was unconvincing to the girl, Soon his smile faded into a frown as he looked at her. "Will I ever see you again?"

The girl leaned over and kissed him on the lips surprising the teen before pulling back with a smile ."I could never forget you, I'll call you as soon as I land"

The two looked into each other's eyes before kissing once again eventually the two let go and she was quick to get out with her backpack. They said their goodbyes one last and head into the airport. It wasn't long before the girl boarded the plane on her way to Korea for the first time in sixteen years. She plugged in her headphones as she got ready for the long flight ahead of her.

The Next Day Back in korea

Jimin was running through the woods alongside Jungkook looking back every once in a while. Suddenly they stopped hearing heavy footsteps in all directions. Jimin spotted the secret underground water tunnel Taehyung had mentioned and was quick to inform Jungkook. The problem was only one person could fit through at a time and they only had time to hide one person. The two looked at each other and Jimin shook his head no with a teary-eyed smile. The taller shook his head no as he manhandled Jimin over to the hole but Jimin wasn't giving up today.

Jimin kneed him in his crotch causing him to fall to the ground giving Jimin enough time to drag him until he was just above the secret underground passage. His eyes filled with tears as he finally pinned Jungkook down as he opened it. He gave him a small I love you before pushing Jungkook into the water tunnel. Jungkook's eyes widened as tried to reach up but Jimin closed the latch before he could reach it.

The smaller was quick to cover the secret hatch up with dirt and leaves as he stood there panting waiting for his fate as the figures finally appeared. Jungkook was listening to him argue with the man when he heard multiple gunshots go off accompanied by a thud.

Jungkook jolted awake drenched in sweat from the nightmare he just had. Ever since Yoongi's funeral three weeks ago he's been having the same dream repeatedly and he didn't know why. He looked to his left to see Jimin peacefully sleeping on his side next to him, the taller let out a sigh as he leaned down and kiss his forehead causing the male to shift in his sleep. Jungkook looked over at the baby monitor to see Haneul fussing in his crib.
