BEFORE THE DEAL

I can't think straight. Not now. The image of her body in my arms laying still is all I can think about. Is all I can see. Her rose lips turned blue and her eyes that used to carry light and joy now carrying darkness with hopelessness. Her warm hands turned cold.

I couldn't escape the image. It appeared everywhere I looked. Hunting me... Until I heard his voice. "She was my sister..." his voice breaks the loop and I can finally see. An old man in a gray tux sat opposite to me on a drown leather sofa. A small coffee table keeping me from him.

He looked familiar but I couldn't figure out from where. His words ring in my head. His sister? Her brother? This man I meet for the first time claims to be my mother's brother... My uncle.

"She was my sister... I feel the same pain you feel... It may differ a bit due to roll. I lost a sister and you, a mother." I process his word. Trying to figure out if what he was saying was true or not.

"Its going to be fine Techno... Am gonna take care of you now." His words remind me of my brother who is standing next to me. I look over to see his eyes all red and cheeks carrying the rivers that fall from his eyes. I had been in my head to long that I ignored him. My brother... My family. He hugs himself making himself look weak.

"I have prepared rooms for you both... Someone will show you to them. Then later after you've cleaned up, dinner will be survived." Someone from the side walks up to us and motions us to move out of the room. Stumbling around for while until we came to our destination. The man opened a door and showed me to enter while he dragged my brother somewhere else.

"Wait... We must stay in the same room. We can't be separated." The man do not protest and let's me an Techno enter the room dedicated to me.

We stood in lavishly decorated room. Techno took the initiative to seat himself in one of the unnecessary mimi sofas placed in the room. I walked towards him then kneeled before him while holding his hands. He was still crying, even if was a little. Tears fall from his eyes.

"We'll be fine... I don't know if we should trust this man or not but I promise you P'... I will be with you always... I will never leave you. Okay?"

Techno pulled me into a hug, it was awkward considering the position I was in before he pulled me in but dispite that I still hugged him. I would have to indure hardships for the both of us...

I walked out of the kitchen and wondered into my uncles study. In the time I spent here I learnt that he spent most of his time in this room. At first I didn't know what he did but over time I got a vague understanding of it.

After staying with him here I began feeling bad for eating up his money with out pitching in to help so that day I hoped to ask if I could help in anything.

I knocked before opening the door. My uncle was seated with a boy about the same age as me. He helped my uncle with numbers. I walked up to them slowly, not wanting to disturb them.

When Good raised his eyes they were meet with mine. He was stunning but very cold and distant. Sometimes I would get him to open up but not for long because he would only close himself up again.

"What is it Technic?" My uncle asked. His head was still low.

"I hope I didn't disturb you guys..."

"We just finished... Now what is it?" This time he looked up to me. He had the same eyes as my mother. I didn't like looking at them to long cause they would occasionally remind me of her.

"I was hoping to talk to you about something important."

"What?"

"Umm... We have been here for some time now and I hate just sitting around not doing anything so I was wondering if I could help you with anything?"

"You don't need to do that... You're my family. I have no problem providing for you."

"I know but it makes me feel bad."

My uncle took a moment just looking at me. I couldn't so I looked away. After some more seconds of him staring at me he spoke.

"Fine... If it will make you feel better. I have a group of boys that don't have a leader anymore... So you could fill in for him while I find a new leader for them."

"Really? What do they do?"

"Nothing big... It's a deliver and retrieve team. I hand them addresses and locations. They either deliver or retrieve something for me."

I nodded. I could do that. It seemed simple.

"Good, can you take him to the warehouse later? Let him meet his team."

Good who was still seated in the room nodded then stood up. He passed by me before leaving.. "We leave in half an hour."

I acknowledged his notion and went on my way to my room. After some time, me and my brother began trusting our uncle, Techno decided to leave to sleep in his own room which was as big as mine and equally decorated with unnecessary fancy things.

When I opened my door I found my brother sitting on the brown sofa in the middle of the room. He was holding a book.

"Hey... What are you doing in here?"

"What? I can't come and chill with my brother anymore?" Techno closed the book to look at me.

"Its not that... Never mind. You can stay but I won't be here long... Am leaving soon."

"To go where?"

I changed my jeans.  "I asked uncle for something to do to help around you know and he assigned me to some group at a wearhouse so am going to meet them now."

Techno stood up. "Do you really have to do it?"

"Yea... I hate doing nothing so am gonna help out a bit... Don't worry."

I knew he was worried about me. He didn't want us to leave the house but I was not like him. Staying in one area could and mostly likely can drive me crazy.

I stood up from were I was kneeling.
"I gotta go... Good is the one taking me so I can't be late... Love you!" I said running out the door.
