Divergent Desire

Chapter 4

After a eternity of waiting for everyone's name to be called, we finally are finished. Not 10 seconds after Marcus says we can leave, there is a black blur going towards the exit to the train tracks. Apparently me, Chris & Will saw that at the same time, because we all scramble to catch up to them. When we do catch up, half of them have already in the trains. 

"Come on! Quickly Quickly!" One of the amity's yell from the train.

I run as fast as I can towards the train the other two following close behind, and I jump on, easily,  guess I was born dauntless.

"Help! Help! Trissy!" Oh no Chris.

I turn around and see her hanging out of the car, and I run to grab her. 

"You good Chris?" I ask once she's inside and she just nods her head.

Her amazing clumsiness is going to kill her.

-Wherever Accalia, Tris, Will & Chris are-

"Welp Trissy, if your calling me clumsy than remember that one time when you,

ALMOST FELL OFF THE  FUGE-ING FERRIS WHEEL!" 

"Oh don't even start Chris, we all know you have had more life threatening moments than me."

"That just means I'm more dauntless, and your more... 'stiff'"

Tris stands up annoyed and leaves the room.

"Really? Every time y'all are all together to tell the story there has to be a fight!"

"Now go get Tris!"

We all sit down and my mind finally has found a time to wander to Tobias. Just Great... I was worrying enough already.

What if he has a prettier girlfriend?

What if he turned to a cruel, heartless person?

What if he didn't mean what happened that night?

What if he forgot about me and broke his promise?

What if he's not even in dauntless?

I wake up from my dose when I hear someone yell "Hey It's time to jump!"

We jumped off the train, and landed not-so-gracefully on our butts.

"Owwwwww..." we say in unison, we stand up, dust ourselves off and join the crowd. "awww I was hoping for a stiff pancake!" Some candor boy yells when he sees me, "shut up idiot!"I yell back at the kid and everyone except for my friends looks at me like I just cussed him out, some wisper, "I've never seen a stiff yell before." And "I think she's going to fit in fine."

"Listen up! My name is Max! I am one of the leaders of your new faction!" shouts a man at the other end of the roof. He is older than the others, with deep creases in his dark skin and gray hair at his temples, and he stands on the ledge like it's a sidewalk. Like someone didn't just fall to her death from it. "Several stories below us is the members' entrance to our compound. If you can't muster the will to jump off, you don't belong here. Our initiates have the privilege of going first."

"You want us to jump off a ledge?" asks an Erudite girl.

I don't know why it shocks her.

"Yes," Max says. He looks amused.

"Is there water at the bottom or something?"

"Who knows?" He raises his eyebrows.

-my story-

"I will"

I make my way to the front and see where we're supposed to jump, into a hole with no bottom in sight. There already testing us to see if we're dauntless. 

"Come on Stiff! We don't got all day!"
