There it was! She had finally arrived! Even out of breath, seeing the silhouette of the olive orchard that belonged to Eclipse's father, gave her a boost of energy.

It was practically midnight and even during the day, the journey to Erebus Malum's place was terribly long and, on foot, difficult. Looking down at the precious cargo she was carrying she saw the reason she was out here at this unholy hour.

In Solaria Peftastéri's arms was her little bundle of joy, Eclipse, who was sleeping peacefully in her arms. The child was born a little while ago (on the 11th of August specifically), in Pompeii, a lively city in the Campania region that during the day was buzzing and always noisy; however, at night it was dead quiet. Solaria loved her daughter dearly, but she was very poor and knew that she would not be able to raise Eclipse; therefore she decided that Eclipse should be raised by her father who had an olive orchard not too far from Pompeii.

The mother was greatly saddened because she knew that if she left her daughter here she would be unable to watch her grow up, but she pushed those emotions aside for she knew that Eclipse's well-being came first. Her father would take care of her in the way that she, herself could not; even if that meant she would have to sacrifice seeing what her daughter would be like when she became a young lady.

Those were the thoughts running through Solaria's mind as she quietly approached the doorstep of Erebus's house. Carefully she brought her little angel towards her so that she could give her a final kiss on the forehead, this movement however awoke Eclipse who stared at her mother in confusion with her silver moon eyes. Solaria smiled sadly at her daughter and lightly placed her on the doorstep along with two letters she set down next to her little one.

The name on the envelope that contained the first note read Eclipse Peftastéri and the other had Erebus's name scribbled onto it. Solaria stood there looking at her daughter trying to memorize every detail while her long silky black hair was flapping in the wind. Then, she knocked on the door, turned and disappeared into the forest with tears streaming silently down her beautiful face.

Sadly, she did not stay long enough to see the door open to a man who, once he saw the child, glared and began to curse angrily.

Ok, so I'm pretty new to this... I will try to update weekly.  I hope you like my story!
