Wishing I Didn't take Algebra

"the more people you let in, the easier it is for them to walk out in a blink of an eye"

~

Most days I wake up to a loud irritating ring that doesn't like shutting up. That is until I realize it's one of my many alarms I sleep through every morning.

Last night I blacked out after the little incident with that asshole. Asshole suits him better than his own name that I abhor hearing so it all works out.

After he abruptly left I went back into the party and tried to block him out of my mind.

It contained a mixture of doing too many rounds of beer pong with Griffin and Raven until I puked which then lead to me seducing the stoners to give me free blunts for all of us to smoke.

It was around one am when I called it quits and dragged Raven out of there. When we made it to our room Raven puked some more, instead of helping her, I fell asleep with my shoes still on my very exhausted feet because I'm such a good friend.

That ungrateful bitch doesn't even thank me.

"Amara wake up!" A faint voice calls out, I ignore it and try to go back to sleep. "Amara wake the fuck up!" then a pillow hits my face as I let out a groan. The sun shines through the small window that's in between our beds that makes me turn around so the sun won't hit my eyes.

"WHAT," I yell out to hear Raven scrambling around the room like a lunatic.

"Get up we're late!" she yells once again before entering the bathroom to do who knows what.

I slowly open my eyes to check my phone on the small nightstand next to my bed to check the time to see it's 8:04. First-class starts at 8:30 which is just lovely considering its algebra.

Don't you love being late on your first day of school?

I quickly get up from my somewhat comfortable bed and scramble to get some clean clothes to wear.

I end up wearing a long sleeve black crop top with some mom jeans and paired with my worn-out but loved black high-top converse. It was the best I could do in 5 minutes.

Making me wish this school had uniforms.

The only good side is that theirs no dress code.

I brush my hair out and let it down even though it looked like a rat's nest. I rush into the bathroom to brush my teeth and put on as much makeup as I can in before Raven yells at me again on how it's my fault we're late. Her yelling wasn't making my aching migraine any better.

We already missed breakfast which wasn't helping our hangovers, especially Raven, that girl eats like she's eating for five, but also is the pickiest eater I've ever met. I on the other hand will be fine, I usually skip breakfast anyways.

Breakfast is overrated.

"Could you go any slower?!" Raven shouts at me as I'm putting random books in my bag. I swear she gets on my nerves sometimes. "Just go without me I'm fine." I groaned at her as I zip my backpack up.

"Fine but I'm not making any excuses for you." she huffed and walked out, she needs food.

After her moody ass leaves, I go back and do a bit more of my makeup before running out the door towards the elevator. I rush in, as soon as the doors slide open and press on the button to take me to the first floor.

Before the doors fully opens I squeeze my body in between the gap and start running to the classroom I'm dreading to go into. I slow my pace as I walk closer to the classroom.

I'm standing in front of classroom 402, trying to think of an excuse for why I'm late.

I slowly turn the doorknob to open the very squicky door. All the eyes in the room turn to me as I give a shy look to the class.

"Ms. Moontree you're late." Mr. Myer says in a cold town while he's in front of the class, teaching whatever numbers equal x.

"Yup, I'm fully away I can read a clock you know," the class chuckles from my bitchy statement, Mr. Meyer wasn't amused as the rest of the class.

"you just bought yourself a ticket to detention, now take a sit and don't disturb class again." I Wasnt even going to try to get my way out of detention, it never works on Mr. Moody Ass. I keep my mouth shut and take a look at the class in front of me sitting at their desks.

My tired eyes are looking at all the other hungover third years who look like they don't want to be here right now. I slowly walk over to the only seat available which just happens to be next to Vivian and asshole Blake. Who the fuck was going to tell me he's in this class?

Loving life at this very moment.

My mind isn't even fully awake for me to complain. I take the cold metal seat in between the two without acknowledging asshole Blake.

Time to meet little miss Lodge.

"Hey your Vivian Lodge, the new student right?" I ask innocently.

"Yes and you must be Amara, I saw you at the party last night," she turns her head to look at me with a smile. No shit I saw her all up on Griffin.

"Yup that's me, so you were the one all up on Griffin last night," I whisper back at her being a bit colder.

"Oh yea about that, I was just drunk and not thinking straight but I'm not into him like that if that's what you think." It's not like I care, Griffin can fuck with whoever he wants I'm just... a bit protective over him and Raven.

"Oh no it's totally fine, just curious that's all," I tell her while she's still looking towards me. "Oh is he your friend?" she states quietly. I can tell she's shy.

"Yea the best of friends so is Raven," I murmur. "Hey, do you want to sit at lunch with us later?" I ask her since she's intriguing.

"Oh yea sure," she replies back.

Great a new friend.

I give her a nod and turn my back around to pay somewhat attention to Mr. Meyer. I can feel someone's eyes piercing into my literal soul, but I take the urge to turn to see who it is even though I have a feeling I know who it is.

Mr. Meyers irritating voice made me take some aspirin I keep in my backpack. Learned that from Griffin who I need to have a lovely conversation with before lunch about his little stunt last night of dragging Blake to the party.
