Chapter 5 Pt 4- Investigation

"A body has been discovered! Now, after a certain amount of time, the class trial will begin!"

Not being able to handle the sight, Tendou ended up fleeing the scene. Him and Ushijima were close. I didn't want him to have to handle the investigation.

"This seems was too quick..."

Kuroo was the first one to speak up. Opening the Casino door and stepping inside.

"I mean, the class trial ended just yesterday, and MonoMolten never gave us any motive"

I had to admit that it was strange. None of us had fully recovered from yesterday yet either...

"Maybe it was someone who wanted chaos?? Or like, some big bad mastermind to the whole game or something?"

Bokuto words got me thinking. If the person behind this really was the mastermind to the whole game. That could mean that they were with us this entire time, and participating in the game like everyone else...

But right now, then only thing I should be thinking about is solving this murder. When we find the culprit, I can ask them then.

For now I should have a look around this room and see what I could find. I started by inspecting what I had noticed earlier on.

The hole in the wall had looks suspicious, so I started with that. It was still there, but it didn't look like it went into another classroom. It just looked like a very long hole. It was at the back of the casino in the very middle. I remember seeing them in other classrooms. But usually they were hidden... Why was this one out in the open?

"Y/n-chan, over here."

Kuroo called me over to where he was, and he showed me the plushie that I had noticed earlier. It looked exactly like MonoMolten.

"Look in the eyes, don't they look a bit like a camera lens to you?"

He passed the plushie to me and I looked in its eyes like Kuroo said. He was right, they did look a bit like a camera lens.

"But why would they need one of these here. I haven't seen them anywhere else"

"Not entirely sure myself"

Realising what needed to be done next, I took a deep breath before approaching Ushijimas body. He was slumped over on the pool table, and there wasn't much blood. Just some coming from the wound made by the spear.

When inspecting it, it was thin, and very sharp. Bokuto wondered if maybe we should pull it out, but after realising that there would be a lot more blood that way, we decided against it. When i had a closer look at it, I could see a little MonoMolten symbol carved into the end. Did it belong to him?

"Hey y/n-chan? Do you know where everybody was?? When we all split up I mean."

"Umm, I was alone on the first floor, and from what I could gather Tendou, Ushijima and the twins were all on their own as well. Because Ushijima and Atsumu went to go get a drink"

"I see"

"What about you an Kuroo?"

"We split up as well, the 2nd floor is like a square so we took one side each and met up on the other side!"

If what Bokuto was saying was true, then that meant that none of us had an alibi for when Ushijima and Atsumu went missing. Meaning it could have been any of us...

We couldn't really see anything else inside of the room. So we went to go check the gym to see what had happened to the fire.

But before that, we searched around the building a little bit more in our way there.
I took a look inside of the janitors closet on the 2nd floor. Inside was a bloody dumbell and an empty pack of wipes. I wasn't entirely sure what they had been used for. But I'm sure I would figure it out.

On the way there we also decided to check out Atsumu's room to see if there was anything that led him there. Like a note or something. We didn't find anything like that. Only a pack of matches inside one of his draws.  I didn't reall get why they were in here... Maybe somebody stole them from his room to light the place on fire.

When we were all finished there we finally started to make our way to the gym.

It seemed like it had mostly calmed down now. Osamu wasn't at the scene anymore. I assume maybe he went off somewhere else.

It seemed like Tendou had also decided to check it out. And relates some information he had found out.

Apparently whilst searching, he had come across a burnt out remote that looked like it didn't work anymore.  But it had a MonoMolten symbol on it so or course it was suspicious. He also checked behind the stage and found a broken and empty gasoline holder. Along with a hammer which was probably used to break it.

Where the fire had cleared, we could see Atsumu's body now. Clear as day, though it looked like it had moved from where we had originally seen him. Maybe he attempted to escape but wasn't quick enough...

"I still find this strange. We weren't given another MonoMolten file this time around. Wonder what he's planning?

Before I could answer Tendous question the speakers began to power up. And we heard his voice..

"Ok everybody!! Please make your way to the trial grounds!!"

As we were walking there we met up with Osamu. He said he was ok but you could easily tell that he wasn't...
It was then and there that I made him a promise...

"We will avenge him. And the mastermind behind this game will get what's coming to them."
