Chapter 9 Lost memories

     Eugeo could barely sleep last night, he was so excited that he was going to see his childhood best friend today. but he was nervous of how she would take to this world. Eugeo's experience with this world has been very little but he's learned so much of it. he's scared of what Alice will think of it, that she might not like it. I don't blame her if she does, this world is a cruel place full of horrible people and confusing technology. in their world they had horrible people too but they didn't have this technology, they lived in an era where this stuff was not thought of. My guess is that Alice's reaction will be the same as Eugeo's. 

     "We will be meeting them at 2:00" I say, going towards the kitchen. "All right" Eugeo says, following behind me. "So, how much sleep did you get exactly?" I asked. "Let me think... Three, maybe four hours" Eugeo says "it's like the rules were switched last night, I finally got 5 hours of sleep and you got maybe four" I say, joking "haha yeah" Eugeo chuckles. Sugu is starting to go into work earlier so we haven't been seeing much of her in the mornings. I cooked us some breakfast then did the usual morning routine. Eugeo was finishing brushing his teeth in the bathroom so I decided to step outside and get some fresh air.

     For a long time after I got out of Sao. When I got home, my backyard was really the only place that I went outside till I was ready to be out in public. Some memory started going through my mind. back from when I beat the game, into my recovery, and- *ring ring* "hm? Oh is Takeru..hello?" I say, answering the phone "hey Kirito, is Eugeo with you?" Takeru asks. "No he's not, do you want me to go get him?" I say. "No it's fine, although I want you to pass this message along. Besides I don't really want to be the one to tell him this" Takeru mumbles "tell him what? What happened? Is everything okay?" I asked, concerned. "Well something is wrong with Alice. She woke up this morning and all of her memories are gone. She doesn't know where she is and she didn't remember anything, not even you or Eugeo. we don't know what it's causing this so we can't exactly fix it." Takeru said. "Could the machines have malfunctioned at all?" I asked, frantically "perhaps, that's my best guess that is it's because the machine must have malfunctioned. And has Eugeo been having any problems like this?" Takeru asks. "No, nothing that I know of. Do you think Alice I'll be okay?" I say, concerned.  "she's okay physically and mentally I guess, but her memories, I don't know" he says. "What do you meanI I guess" I asked. "Well she's a bit scared and confused of why she is here, I don't blame her though." He says. "Ok... Thanks for telling me, I'll pass this on to Eugeo" I say, glum "all right, oh and you guys are welcome to come here still. Maybe if she sees you guys her memories might return, or some of them at least" he says. "All right" I say, then hanging up the phone. 

     I stand there, not moving. My mind raced. What if she never remembers us? How will Eugeo take this? What if this happens to him too? I can't lose them. I hear the sliding glass door open behind me and I see it's Eugeo. "Hey, what are you doing out here?" He asks, stepping outside and closing the door. "We need to talk" I say. I don't really know when would be a good time to tell him, so I'll just tell him now well everything is still fresh in my mind. "Sure, what's up? Is everything okay?" Eugeo asks. "No, not really. I just got done talking with Takeru. He just informed me that... Alice has lost her memories."

     I AM SO SO SORRY IT TOOK ME LIKE THREE MONTHS TO GET THIS SHORT CHAPTER OUT!  I also apologize for how short this is ;-; but it's like almost three in the morning and I have school tomorrow and I wanted to get this out tonight so I just decided to leave yoll on a cliffhanger, sorry. But don't worry in the next few chapters it will start to get a bit happier and ✨gay✨
