"I'll see him."

Aizawa stared at Todoroki with a shocked expression. Todoroki stared back, his face blank and indifferent.

"Todoroki, I really think you should reconsider." Aizawa crossed his arms. "It wouldn't be healthy to see him so soon."

"None of this is healthy, you told me that. Everyone has told me that. But I'm still here, so it can't be that bad right?"

"Things can be unhealthy without death."

"And healthy things can still result in death. I don't see the point of avoiding someone I lived with my entire life, whether he abused me or not."

"He did abuse you. Don't treat it so lightly. You should consider your mental health first."

"I did. Winning this case against him is the only thing that can put me at ease. Now that the secret is out, there isn't any point in denying it. So I want to win. I want to see the look on his face when his crimes catch up to him. The only way to do that now is to help Detective Tsukauchi help us. If you don't want to be there when I talk to him, don't be there. but I'm going."

The two older men looked at him with surprise. That's the most he's talked that entire time. Maybe even in days. He was so quiet and submissive when it came to everything else. But this- this is important to him. He's going to throw everything he has at this case, won't give up until he wins. He's up against the best lawyers money can buy, and isn't showing any fear.

It's there though. You couldn't see it but it's there. He's terrified of losing. Of being sent back to that man after he'd been given so much freedom. After he had outright said he was abused. After his classmates had seen it in person. If Endeavor was free, he would lose his shit.

He would kill Shoto, and anyone who dared to help him.

That meant his friends and family, so he had to win this. No matter what.

"Fine. But I am coming with."

"Thank you." Shoto nodded gratefully.

Tsukauchi stood up. "I think that concludes this meeting then. We'll call you and set up a time where we talk to Endeavor, and then go from there." They all shook hands, and then Aizawa and Todoroki were on their way back to the apartment.

"Can we stop somewhere first?" It was Aizawa asking this. Shoto nodded, confused at how that was his choice, since he wasn't driving.

Aizawa pulled in behind a building, Shoto was too deep in thought to notice. When he was parked, he nudged Todoroki and gestured for him to get out. Todoroki looked up at the giant building in front of him.

"Why are we at the dorms?"

"I forgot something here, and I thought since you were with me you might like to see everyone. If not you can stay in the car."

'See everyone. I haven't seen them since I was attacked in the common room.'

"I'll come with." They'll think he's weak if he doesn't.

They walked around the building, and Aizawa, who was steps ahead of him, walked through the door. Todoroki stood for a minute, contemplating whether he should go in or not.

He decided, and opened the door with his left arm, careful not to rip or move the bandaging on his abdomen apart. He heard his classmates for the first time in what felt like forever, and it made him want to cry. These were the people he was protecting. Trying to at least.

The room went silent as he walked in, and all eyes turned to him. Nobody moved, not even him. his eyes glazed over everyone, and he saw the way Sero's expression fell, how Midoriya's eyes were tearing up.
