[Destined - Chapter 2]

•••

Luna Autumn and Alpha Jaxton decided to hold a party at their house, so she could get to know the pack members a bit better. Ever since the Alpha found his voice again, he was eager to finally communicate verbally with everyone. Many of them were flabbergasted at the huge news, and they went out of their way to show how thankful and blessed they felt about the whole situation. His vocals also caught the attention of the she-wolves, but Autumn made it very clear that he belonged to her by flaunting the mark she bared on her neck.

Theo helped the couple plan out the event, because he attended more parties than he could count. He needed to distract himself anyways. The poor, hormonal Beta had been thinking about his mate more than he would have liked to admit, and this distraction helped him a great amount.

This was the first time Alpha Jaxton opened his house to anyone, so many members were curious as to what the interior of his house looked like. In addition to that, many of them could not wait to actually speak with the Alpha directly. Rumors went around claiming that he had the voice of a sexy god, and the Luna couldn't deny it, because she fell in love with his voice from the very first time he spoke to her.

While Theo found a distraction by planning the party, Kian spent his time with his nose stuck in his textbooks. He never focused on his schoolwork, but now he had a reason, and he had nothing else to occupy himself. While studying, he found out that he actually enjoyed physics, and he wasn't nearly as bad at math as he thought. His parents would be extremely proud of him if they knew what he accomplished here.

When he goes back to his old pack, would his behavior change again? Or would he actually try to make his parents proud? Was it too late?

These were some of the questions he thought to himself as he finished up his Pre-Calculus homework.

"So, are you going to the party on Saturday? It seems like most of the pack is going," Jamie asked as she poked her head in Kian's room.

Kian shook his head. He doubted his aunt and uncle would allow him to, especially with his past experiences at parties. And besides, it would be a good idea to maintain a distance between him and the Beta for a while.

Jamie gasped as she fully stepped into the room. "What do you mean? The Alpha finally can speak, and he's opening his house to everyone. How can you not go, Mr. Partier?"

Kian shrugged and laid his pencil down on the table, leaning back in his chair and running his fingers through his already disheveled hair. "I can't go," he sighed.

"Why not?"

"Well, for one thing, I doubt your parents would allow me. And second, I don't think it's such a good idea."

Jamie's eyebrows shot up. "Wow, you saying 'no' to a party? What a shocker!"

Kian rolled his eyes and rubbed the back of his neck. He low-key wanted to go, but he knew his decision was for the best.

Amelia barged in and gasped out loud. "No! You have to come with us!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down. "Please go! Just for a little bit!"

Kian ran a hand down the side of his face. "I'll think about it..." he mumbled as he glanced out the window, the sun setting behind the palm trees and roofs of houses in the neighborhood.

He definitely liked the location of this pack more than Texas, especially since he can see the ocean off in the distance from his window. The house had a homier feel to it, and the room his aunt allowed him to use was cleaner and not as crowded.
