Y/N threw the bottle against the wall. "For the last time, you are not leaving this house to play chess!" She yelled angrily at Benny who was carrying bags down the stairs. "Well, I sure as hell ain't staying here!" Benny replied while trying to open the door with a bag in his hands. "Benny I swear to god if you leave you will never hear from me again!" She said while trying to walk towards him but utterly failing.

"That is fine by me!" Benny opened the door and turned back to his sister. "I will play chess. Whether you are supporting me or not. I have won tournaments all over and I am ready to play out of the country. I am leaving." Benny looked at his sister one last time. She was completely drunk and a total mess.

"Goodbye Y/N." Benny walked out the door as Y/N chugged the bottle of champagne in her hand and blacked out onto the floor.

Y/N bolted upright on the couch where she was sleeping. She was sweaty and noticed her hands where shaking.

"Are you alright?" Beth asked getting up out of the bed. They were staying at a small motel overnight after Y/N picked up Beth and decided she was going to help her.

"yeah... I am fine. it was just a bad dream." Y/N said to Beth suddenly noticing how exposed Beth's skin was. She was thankful it was dark because she could have sworn her cheeks just got very red. "Really I'm fine. Go back to sleep. It's going to be a hard week for you and you really should get some rest while you still can." Beth looked at her uncertainly.

Instead of going back to the bed, she sat down on the couch next to Y/N. "Tell me about what happened." Beth looked deeply into her eyes. Y/N felt her stomach turn to butterflies. "Well uh, when I was younger I made some really dumb choices, and well. I guess I was sorta reminded of them."

"You aren't the only person who made dumb choices. Just look at my life." Beth said to her. "Hey, if you ever need to you can talk to me. I am not the wisest person but I may be able to help you. Just like how you're helping me. We can call it even." Beth gave a little smile at Y/N.

"Thank you. Benny was lucky to have you in his life. Even if it was for just a small-time." Y/N looked into Beth's eyes and she knew what she had to say. "You don't have to come to see Benny. I know things are rocky between you too and I wouldn't want it to cause you pain." Surprisingly Beth replied "No let me come. I ruined his life" she paused for a second "and yours and I will be the one to fix it."

Y/N wasn't sure why but she felt an urge to touch Beth's hand. So she got up the courage and put her hand on Beth's. She held onto it tightly. She wished she knew what Beth was thinking. Did she feel flustered whenever she looked at her? Or is this just a weird thing Y/N was experiencing?

Beth rested her head onto her shoulder and stayed there for a while. "You have been such a good friend to me in the short time I have known you."

Y/N felt a tinge of pain when she said that, but she wasn't sure why. She didn't want to be just another friend. She honestly had no clue what she wanted though. In church, they used to tell people girls must marry a man, and whomever we marry will be the one who takes our flower, or else we will go to hell. She knew she already broke one of those rules so that means she was already going to hell. Does that mean she doesn't have to marry a man? But would she want to marry a woman? She felt a bit of disgust towards herself. What was she thinking of course she wouldn't marry a woman. That is morally wrong.

But who was she kidding? She felt drawn to Beth. In more than one way. Y/N looked at her, her head still on her shoulder. She was the most beautiful person she has ever seen. She just wanted to hold her and never let her go. She wanted her, even though every bone in her body was telling her this was wrong. No matter what she said to try and convince herself she knew that she wanted Beth. No. She needed Beth.
