an Accidental Shifting of Realities

Class was over, and Lana walked with Cho Chang out of the classroom, heading towards the Ravenclaw common room (as it was their last class of the day). 

"My god Cho, I can't even believe that he left me there in the courtyard yesterday it was humilia- pstt look, it's Cedric... didn't you hear? He apparently fancies you" Lana gossiped while nudging her friend.

"Oh common Lana, how could he, I'm not even in the same year as him.... shut up he's coming over," she said frantically patting down her fly-aways.

Cedric stopped the girls, putting his hand on Lana's shoulder just as she was about to pass him. Lana widened her eyes at Cho, and Cho blushed nervously glancing down at the floor. Cedric's hand moved from Lana's shoulder to her hand as Cedric said "Lana can I speak with you for a moment?" Lana went wide-eyed again "uhhhh um sure of course". Cho watched as her roommate and her love interest walked away. 

Cedric lead her to an empty hallway and stood in front of her as she leaned against the wall. "So, what was it you wanted?" She asked awkwardly.

"I just wanted to make sure you were ok."

"Why?"

"Well, you see, I saw Weasley leave you in the courtyard, and-"

"You were there?"

"Ummm yeah, I was out on a walk as well"

"ok...."

"Anyways, I want to ask you if you wanted to attend the yule ball with me?"

Lana pondered this for a moment in silence, I mean he wasn't a horrible boy to go with and plus, this could make George jealous and show his actual feelings for her. "I'd love to."
