Lana heaved herself onto her bed. After a long day of school, a little bit of reading was just what she needed. She fanned her dark brown hair over her pillow and nuzzled into the blankets. She had just started the fourth Harry Potter book yesterday and was already almost done.

As she grabbed the soft spine and flipped to the right page, the sent of old books wafted throughout her room. She took a deep breath. Fairy lights illuminated the pages as she started reading.

It was a windy night, and Lana could hear the tree outside her house brush up against her window. As she continued to wade through Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, she couldn't help but think about all of her daily troubles: her parents constantly fought, she was in junior year which was notorious for sucking, her grades were horrible and midterms were coming up, she had basically no close friends since she had just moved, and she was lonely. *I hate it here, I want to go back home.* She thought in self-pity, not realizing what this meant.

...

The clock ticked past midnight, as Lana flipped through the last pages of the story. *That was amazing* she reflected, replaying the story in her head while tucking herself under her quilted blanket.

"back to reality tomorrow," she muttered under her breath

That was not the case.
