Chummy Sparklestone

Val's POV

Poppy, Cooper, Holly, Dante, Smidge, Guy Diamond, Branch, and I are in the middle of doing a Mystery Party. This is where we role play in a mystery game.

Holly, Poppy, and I are in dresses, Branch is dressed as a golfer, Guy Diamond  and Dante are dressed as rich trolls, and Cooper is dressed as a detective.

But Cooper being cooper, he didn't really get the idea of role playing. So he didn't act like a detective.

We didn't know what to do. But Guy Diamond had an idea.

Guy Diamond had Cooper forget he was Cooper and is now Chummy Sparklestone.

To our surprise, that seemed to have worked.

"I am Chummy Sparklestone, ace detective. Loves finding clues, loves solving mysteries, and loves giving you desserts." Cooper says before giving Smidge a cupcake.

"Cupcake! Thanks, Cooper." Smidge says while taking the cupcake.

"Madame, I know not this Cooper, but I do know there's a mystery afoot." Cooper says.

"Why, yes, Chummy. There's been a theft, but the culprit has left no clues." Poppy says to Cooper.

"Oh, didn't they?" Cooper says before running  over to the broken glass case that was supposed to have a necklace in it. "See the scarring along the edges? This is clearly a sign that the thief broke the glass with a blunt, gold-plated instrument. More specifically, the gold-plated instrument belonging to the local golf expert!"

Cooper walks over to Branch and pulls out a golden golf stick.

We all gasp in realization.

"Yep, he got me." Branch says.

"I've just begun, for our thief isn't actually the local golf expert at all. It's the village grump, Branch, in disguise!" Cooper says before pulling off Branch's golfing outfit.

I think Cooper is taking this a little too serious.

Now he's saying that we all are in disguises and are actually ourselves in real life.

"Uh...Cooper, I think you've missed he point of this game." Poppy says.

"My name is not Cooper. I am Chummy Sparklestone, and this case...is frosted." Cooper says with confidence.

"Uh, Guy, did you break Cooper?" Poppy asks Guy Diamond.

"Well, he does get very deep into character. He'll change back eventually, but for now I'm afraid Cooper is stuck being Chummy Sparklestone." Guy Diamond says.

"Wait, stuck being an ace detective? Hmm." Branch asks in thought.

I already know what Branch is thinking right now.

As I expected, Branch wanted Cooper to investigate a "mystery" on his missing bear trap.

And as the day goes on, Cooper has been solving all kinds of mysteries. But it soon came to a point where Cooper was solving mysteries that are spoiling other trolls' fun.

Smidge, Biggie, Poppy, and I start talking about it being an issue to TrollsTopia.

"Poppy, help!" Chenille shouts while running towards us. "Cooper's on my tail! He's going to ruin my big surprise! I've secretly spent the last six months making a special dress for Satin." She says while pulling out a gold dress from her hair.

"Aw!" Poppy says.

I was a little confused by this. "Wait, how is that possible if she is with you the whole time?" I ask.

"Whenever I want to work on it, I discuss spoilers for books she hasn't read." Chenille answers.

We look over to see Satin covering her ears so she wouldn't hear the spoiler for the books.

"Please, Poppy. I'm so close to finishing the dress. I can't let Cooper spoil it now." Chenille says with worry.

"There's a mystery afoot! And I'm gonna solve it." Cooper says from a distance.

"Run!" Poppy shouts.

Smidge and Biggie split up from Poppy, Satin, Chenille, and I as we run away.

Poppy, Satin, Chenille, and I run up a tree and stand on a branch.

We stop to take a breather, but we scream when we see Cooper standing behind us.

"Going somewhere?" Cooper asks.

Satin was the only one who was confused since she was covering her ears the whole time.

"I'll tell you what's going on. The case of the deceptive dressmaker is..." Cooper says while reaching towards Satin's hair.

"Wait!" Poppy shouts. "Just hang on a sec. Chummy, you haven't solved the village's  most challenging mystery. The case of the concealed Cooper." She says before pulling out Cooper's hat.

She is smart. Why didn't I think of that?

"Hmm. Go on." Cooper says.

"Cooper, the troll who wore this hat, disappeared last night, and no one has been able to find him." Poppy says.

"Hmm. The most challenging mystery? Oh, Queen Poppy, this is child's play. For, you see, there's a tuft of the victim's hair tucked in the hat. And after even the most cursory of searches, I have already deduced that this so-called missing Cooper... is me!" Cooper says.

It took Cooper a while to figure out that he wasn't Chummy Sparklestone.

"Cooper, are you...you?" Poppy asks.

"Yep! Boy, that was weird, even for me." Cooper says before taking off his detective outfit and putting his hat on.

We all sigh in relief.

Well, Chenille was able to surprise Satin with the new dress.

"Well,  it all worked out in the end. Satin got her big surprise, and all signs of Chummy Sparklestone have disappeared." Poppy says.

"Yeah." I say in agreement.

"They sure have." Cooper says.

At least everything turned out okay in the end.
