Bird Love

Val's POV

I was walking around TrollsTopia with Echo as he flies from above me.

We are bored and don't know what to do. So we wanted to walk around to see if there was anything for us to do.

Moments later, Echo looks to the right and then smiles before flying in that direction.

"Echo, where are you going?" I ask while running after him.

As I walk through the bushes, I see Echo squawking with Polly.

It's been a while since we've seen her.

"Hi, Polly." I say while waving.

Polly looks in my direction while and smiles. She flies to me and lands on my shoulder before rubbing her head against mine.

Polly flies back over to Echo and continues to converse with him.

But for some reason, Polly frowned while speaking with him.

I wish I could understand what they were saying. But I can't.

Echo started to frown too.

"What's wrong, Echo?" I ask.

Echo turns in my direction and says, "Polly... going... away... with... family." He sounds so sad when he says this.

I was taken aback as well.

If Polly leaves, Echo will be so lonely without her.

"Is there anything we can do to make you stay?" I ask Polly.

Polly looks down while shaking her head.

Before anyone can say anything else, we hear squawking from the distance. It's probably Polly's parents.

We then see two parrots fly out from the trees and hover next to us. I believe that those two are Polly's parents by the looks of it.

Echo starts talking with Polly's parents, probably asking if Polly can stay with us.

The parents shake their head before talking some more with both Echo and Polly.

Echo looks back at me and says, "Polly... will be... back... soon."

I nod.

At least Polly will be back soon. I don't know how long she will be gone for, but it's better than forever.

Polly leaves with her parents afterwards, leaving us to stand there and watch her leave.

I know that Echo is going to be sad for the rest of the day, so I don't plan on doing anything to cheer him up that much.

I was right. Echo just stayed by the bunker for most of the day.

I would try many different ways to try and cheer him up, but nothing seems to work. And I was a the point of giving up.

"Well, I am also sad that Polly is leaving." I say while leaning against Echo. And at that moment, I just thought about something. "Hey, Echo. When is Polly leaving?"

"Tomorrow." Echo says.

I perk up when I get an idea. "What if we do a going away party for Polly and her parents?"

Echo perks up as well and nods with a small smile.

"Did someone say going away party?!" We hear Poppy ask as she stands next to us, which startles both Echo and I.

"Yeah. Polly is going away for a while, so we were thinking if we can throw a little going away party for her." I say to Poppy.

"That's a great idea! I'll start planning everything out!" Poppy says before dashing off.

Poppy really has a thing for parties.

So the plan was when Poppy got the party ready, Echo will go get Polly and her parents. And that is when we start the party for them.

After a few minutes of waiting, I see Echo flying back over with Polly and her parents following behind him.

Now the party was going to start.

As every troll in TrollsTopia party, Echo was with Polly most of the time.

I'm happy Echo has someone in his life that is just like him. Polly is the perfect parrot for Echo.

It soon came to a point where Polly's parents called for her.

It looks like Polly's parents are ready to go.

Polly sadly looks down before looking back at Echo. She quickly nuzzles her beak against his before flying towards her parents.

The three parrots look back at everyone and squawk before flying off into the distance.

Echo flies up and lands on a tree branch and watches them leave with a frown on his face.

I follow Echo and climb the tree all the way to the branch Echo was on. I then sit down next to him.

"It's okay, Echo. We'll wait for her to return. You will wait for her." I say to Echo.

Echo sadly smiles before saying. "Wait... for... her."

It might be long time until we can see Polly again. But Echo will never forget about Polly and will always wait for her to return.
