When I woke up again, I was back at the campfire.

"Finally awake, huh?" A voice next to me asked.

I looked over and saw Laurie.

"Laurie?" I asked.

She nodded, "I died first in my last trial, and now here you are."

I grabbed at my stomach, and found no wound there.

"Relax, you were healed by the Entity after you were sacrificed.

I looked around.

"Is it just the two of us?" I asked.

"Nah, the others are in the Workshop Inventory." Laurie said, "So far, the ones who are here are Zarina, Meg, Bill, Ash, you, and me."

I nodded in understanding, "So death really isn't an escape, huh?"

She shook her head, "Nope. Sorry."

I sighed, "Well, I suppose it's not all bad. I get to be with Mikey again, so there's that."

"You really like him, don't you?" Laurie smirked.

My eyes widened.

"W-what?! No!" I stuttered. My face was burning up, "He's just my best friend! Nothing more!"

Laurie laughed, "Relax, I'm just teasing." Then her expression turned dark, "But it's good to have someone you can depend on, someone that you can be friends with, in here. Most of us don't know each other except for Nancy with Steve, and then there's the original four: Meg, Dwight, Claudette, and Jake."

"You haven't bonded with others?" I asked.

"Every time I do, they die, so I just don't even try anymore."

I frowned, "But death isn't an escape anymore."

She sighed, "I know, that's why I've been trying to open up again, but you're really the first person that I actually feel comfortable around."

Suddenly, I noticed a book near the campfire.

I picked it up, slightly burning my fingers in the process.

"The Killer's Almanac?" I read the cover of the book out loud.

"Oh that? That's a book that appears every so often. Let's read it, see if the new killer is listed in there." Laurie said.

I opened the book and looked through the killers.

The Trapper, The Hillbilly, The Wraith...

I kept looking.

The Ghost Face, The Demogorgon, The Oni...

Suddenly, my eyes stopped at the last few pages.

"The Machine." I said.

I read the pages after those words.

Overview:

The Machine is an undead killer, able to command phantom apparitions to jumpscare survivors and pressure them using his power.

His personal perks, Attentive Curiosity, Inevitable Return, and Hex: Burn With Me, make it easier for him to track down survivors without them being able to fight back without terrible consequences.

His perks revolve around locating and chasing down survivors, and will make them hesitant to stun him until his hex totem is cleansed. They will make it hard for survivors to flee from him for long.
