"Kamryn! Dinner!"

I heard my mom yell, right on cue.

I wasn't hungry, but she'd be worried if I didn't eat.

I had to go.

I tucked a strand of long hair behind my ear and walked out of my room.

I could only hope my eyes weren't too red and puffy.

Just as I had assumed, our dinner included noodles.

We were having spaghetti, an easy enough meal to prepare.

I sat quietly at the dinner table as I ate, Madi provides the entertaining. It's the same every night.

"Kamryn, please finish your dinner."

"I'm sorry, it's good I'm just not hungry." I said quietly.

It was the truth, I didn't have much of an appetite. I never did, which probably explained my very small stature.

My mom sighed and sat back in her chair.

I knew what she was thinking. She was wondering what she was going to do with me, something she asked often.

I didn't really know myself.

Madi continued to talk, and my mom nodded at me. She mouthed "go" and I silently stood up.

I walked down the hall to my room, passing through the door and closing it behind me.

I was tired. I needed an escape, maybe the dream would come back.

I exhaled and laid on my bed. I was done. I needed to leave.

I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling. It was so empty. Maybe I should paint it.

Yeah, I should paint and decorate it.

That would be amazing. It would be the best. I want to do it myself, so I could be proud of something I did.

No one else, me.

It'd be just about the only thing.

I was thinking about how I wanted it, the last thing I thought about was the shade of blue I'd choose for the sky.

Nothing too bright, nothing too grey..
