Chapter 7
I'm not even at Kevin's place yet, and my heart is already beating fast as I finish preparing myself.
My makeup is off, my braids have been taken care of, and my armpits have a peach scent I am in love with. I don't know if I should bring my bonnet that I use to cover my hair though.
I want to be cute, but at the same time, I don't want to ruin my braids for him. I'm also too lazy to fix them. Ugh, whatever, I'm taking it. I shove the black satin bonnet inside the big white purse that already has my morning products inside.
Since he lives right in front of me, I don't need to bring a pair of clothes. In fact, I'm going there with my newest pyjamas I bought for this occasion since I usually sleep with a random sweater and call it a night.
Soft, plaid pants and a black cami top are enough. I put on a grey cardigan, slip my feet into a pair of Vans and head out with the heavy purse on my shoulder.
I cross paths with Liam, who gets out of his room at the same time. His dark eyes travel down my petite frame. "Where are you going?"
I grin, winking at him. "Out. I'll see you tomorrow." I say, walking past him.
"You better not come back pregnant!"
I laugh, closing our door and heading straight to Kevin's.
I take a few mindful breaths. Nothing will happen. We will just sleep and move along with our lives tomorrow. It's the perfect content for my non-fiction.
...Ugh.
What if something happens though? I quickly shake my head as I type the passcode, unlocking the door where he lives. I'm getting too ahead of myself.
My phone vibrates from my hand; A new message from none other than Kevin.
Kevin: Are you coming?
Me: I'm opening your flat's door now.
"Finally. My eyes are getting heavy," Kevin says with his head peeking out of the bedroom door.
I roll my eyes, slipping inside his safe space. "It's only midnight. Parties usually start now," I say.
He shrugs before taking his shirt off. My mouth goes dry. "It's different. If I know I'll be up late, my body gets all excited, but now? It just wants to sleep," he explains, throwing the shirt on the chair.
My eyes can't help but drop to his fit chest, loving how smooth it is. There's not a trace of body hair. I wonder if he waxes. He doesn't even have facial hair, so perhaps it's just genetics.
"Nöelle?"
I blink, looking back up. Kevin has his head tilted to the side. "Are you alright?"
I nod, putting the purse on the corner of his wooden desk. With only a laptop, water bottle, and a few action figures, his desk is pretty tidy.
"I guess I'm just tired as well," I say, faking a sleepy yawn. I don't think I'll be able to sleep with Kevin breathing down my neck.
He smiles before going under the covers of the double bed and lifts them, quietly motioning me to join in.
Once we're in bed, he turns the lights off. The switch is right above the headboard. Lucky bastard. Mine is all the way to the door. It's a nightmare.
I lie on my back, staring at the infinite darkness. So we're really sleeping. I sigh. I can still hear and smell Kevin's breath.
"You smell good," he states throughout this darkness.
