It's been 3 months since Blue and Dream left. So far, the Multiverse has gotten more negative since the day Dream left. No one in the AUs seem to be happy anymore. And no one seems have dream whenever they sleep. They only got nightmares or in rare occasions, a dreamless sleep. Timelines that were once in the pacifist route got more negative and eventually, they started a Genocide route over and over.

Nightmare was a mess, he can't believe he actually managed to make Dream snap and quit his job forever. How could he be so stupid?!
Now he thinks his brother hates him. Which is indeed true because he did say Nightmare was the worst brother ever.

Nightmare was thinking in his room for several days now. Trying to pinpoint where his brother could be so he could apologize and hopefully they could go back to what they used to do.

He was searching for his aura because he didn't believe that he actually shut it off. He's just hiding it from him and he knows it, he just have to keep trying, even if it takes years.

Meanwhile with the rest of the gang...

Cross barely hangs around the castle anymore. He says that he was getting bored of waiting for Nightmare and decided to run some roam around to do something.

Horror and Dust were on a killing spree in the Genocide Timelines, they were competing against the humans to see who can do the Genocide run faster.

Error was enjoying his new peaceful life in the Anti-void. Unless Ink barges in and forces him to cure his boredom by annoying him almost every day.

While Killer, he was worried...

He was worried because Nightmare hasn't left his room ever since Dream left to wherever he was now. During the first few weeks, it was fine. He got to eat food and sometimes go to the library before locking himself in his room to contemplate about his previous actions.

But as soon as the weeks turned into Months. Nightmare barely left his room. There were times when Killer could hear him talking to himself between the walls. Muttering words that portrayed himself as a bad brother to Dream.

There were times when Killer could hear him cry over his brother leaving him. Although it agitates him, he couldn't stay angry at Dream because it was reasonable for him to leave.

I mean, how would you feel if you were the Guardian of Positivity and you have to fake your happiness 24/7 everyday for the rest of your immortal life while carrying a childhood trauma for more than 500 years?
Yeah, no one wants that at all. It's surprising how Dream endured it for so long, Nightmare probably thought he couldn't snap and just kept doing what they usually do.

Right now, Killer was in front of Nightmare's door. He leaned onto the closed door and tried to listen to what Nightmare was doing.

"Come on! Please!"

"I-I can't live without you..."

Killer sighed and knocked on the door. A few seconds later, Nightmare opened it. Killer was about to say something, when he noticed his boss has turned back into his passive form. And for some odd reason, he's taller than him.

"What is it, Killer?" Nightmare asked.

"Uhhhh..." Killer's words were mixed up form being mesmerized by Nightmare's form. He shook his head and tried to piece his words.

"Boss, you've been locking yourself in your room. I'm worried about you, you never come down to eat or even go to your favorite library. What's going on, Nighty?" Killer asked worriedly.

Nightmare blushed a bit after hearing the nickname that Killer gave him.

"I-I... Uhhhmm..." Now Nightmare can't seem to find his words. He sighed after a couple of seconds.

"I just missed him, Killer. I can't believe I did that. My only brother, the one who looks up to me and believes in me, no longer likes me or accepts me as his own brother." Nightmare starts to cry from guilt. Killer hugged him and patted his back.

"Hey, it's alright. Dream just needs some time to himself. After all, being the Positive Guardian must've been rough on him." Killer said.

"What do you mean by that?" Nightmare asked curiously.

"Well, remember everytime you made me spy on him?" Killer asked and Nightmare nodded.

"There were times when I could hear Dream say things like: "I must be happy, or everyone will be disappointed in me." As if he was forcing himself to be happy for others." Killer explained. Nightmare listened quietly.

"Then there were times when Dream would cry to himself in the woods alone. Muttering stuff about how he couldn't save you or how his job was really hard to keep up." He continued.

Nightmare felt himself grow guiltier from what he said. More thoughts swirled into his mind.
Killer sighed and planted a kiss on Nightmare's cheek. Nightmare snapped out of his trans and blushed harder than before.

"W-wha- KILLER!" Nightmare said embarrassedly. Killer smiled.

"Just give it some time, Nighty. Dream will come back soon. You can't expect him to be gone forever, Right?" Killer said assuredly.

Nightmare nodded. "You're right, Kills. Dream will be back, I know it."

"Good. Now come downstairs and eat!" Killer said like an angry mom.
Nightmare laughed and kissed Killer on the lips before going downstairs.
Killer blushed and froze from the sudden action.
