V: Vet

Summary: jeongguk's dog, gureum, had gotten extremely sick so he took him to the vet. he didn't expect the vet to be a young man (only two years older than him) and extremely handsome. he didn't have in mind that he would fall for his dog's vet.

Jeongguk ran as fast as he could to reach the vet's clinic. He really wasn't in luck today. Gureum had been really sick for the past few days, but his father refused to let Jeongguk go anywhere before he finished his midterms.

As you could probably conclude, his father wasn't very fond of Gureum. He barely tolerated any pets of any kind and he was absolutely disgusted, calling them filthy, expensive animals that are useless. Jeongguk had been fighting with him to get a pet ever since he was 5 but he wouldn't agree.

One day, yoongi, who was the younger's step-brother promised him to get him a puppy for his 12th birthday if he behaved for the whole month.

Jeongguk waited days and nights just for his birthday to come so he could get a puppy. Soon, September 1 came and Jeongguk was already bouncing impatiently in the passenger seat, eager to pick a puppy.

They agreed to go to a rescue shelter because little Jeonggukkie absolutely loved helping. So helping and getting a puppy at the same time? Perfect.

Once they arrived to the shelter, he began examining each and every tiny puppy he could find. He would approach them and try to pet them gently. Some were really playful, immediately warming up to Jeongguk and jumping around, tails wagging.

Little jeonggukkie giggled bashfully, enjoying this. He truly had a soft spot for tiny puppies. It was so hard to choose since there were so many. If he could, he would take them all home with no hesitation whatsoever.

"Come on, gukkie. You need to pick one or else we'll be here the whole day." Yoongi reminded him, while he was petting a kitten, licking his fingers.

Jeongguk pouted at his hyung's words and sighed. He really needed to choose just one. He looked around one more time and noticed a puppy huddled up in the corner, not daring to approach Jeongguk. The young boy tilted his head and slowly approached the white furred puppy. "Hi little one." He called out softly.

Jeongguk had a habit of talking to animals, and everyone found it endearing that he did. He treated them like human babies. 'That's cause baby humans are annoying...' he thought to himself. 'Puppies are superior to humans.'

The tiny puppy looked at Jeongguk with wide eyes and whimpered. "What's wrong little one? Why are you all alone?" Jeongguk whispered softly and gently reached out to pet him. To his despair, the puppy cowered even more and tried to squeeze himself into the corner.

Jeongguk frowned. "I won't hurt you." He whispered then he remembered he had been given some dog treats by the rescue's owners in case he wanted to befriend the puppies. He slowly took a treat out of his pocket and held it out in his hand.

The tiny puppy still stared at him warily, not moving a limb. Jeongguk sighed and slowly placed the treat on the floor. "It's okay, pup. There, won't hurt you." He said and slightly backed away.
