———jeongguk finally made it to his apartment. he recently moved from busan to seoul in hopes of opening a new chapter of his life.
he had been pretty depressed for the past 6 months, ever since his husband, park jimin died in the military. not only that, but jimin left him with something extra.
a fucking baby.
yup. jeongguk was around 5 months and a half pregnant. he was feeling big already, his twin babies growing so fast, making him feel like a fucking whale with every passing day.
he managed to get the janitor to help him with his boxes, to which he instantly agreed, since as jeongguk couldn't exactly lift them.
he placed them at the door before he left. jeongguk took his time observing the door of his new apartment.
"i can't believe i'm moving into a new apartment without you." he whispered softly, hand on his bloated, very much pregnant tummy.
"talking to doors? damn, you must be very different." a deep voice spoke from behind him. jeongguk looked back and his eyes widened.
"n-no. that's not what happened. i just... it's kinda hard to explain." he mumbled, face palming a little. "never mind."
the other man chuckled softly and extended his hand, clearly looking to shake hands with his new neighbor. "hi. i'm kim taehyung. welcome to floor 13."
jeongguk smiled a little. "nice to meet you, kim taehyung. i'm park- i mean, i'm jeon jeongguk. nice to meet you too." he said while shaking his hand.
taehyung grinned then glanced at his stomach. "wow, congratulations on the pregnancy! you and your partner must be thrilled!"
jeongguk cleared his throat and looked down. "um. no, not really. i'm not married. at least not anymore."
taehyung's eyes widened. "o-oh. i'm sorry for bringing that up. um, anyway! let me help you with boxes."
jeongguk shook his head. "it's okay, i'll get them inside."
taehyung scoffed. "no offense blondie, but you're kinda too preggo to lift these boxes. put it in your password and i'll help you get them inside at least."
jeongguk gave him a faint smile, seemingly taehyung would never give up until he said yes. "fine." he quickly typed his password and went inside.
taehyung followed him with two boxes in his hands then got the rest of them. "for someone who's moving in, you don't own a lot of stuff."
"oh they took them all. my husband was in huge debts and people began pestering me to give them their money back, so i sold around 96% of my stuff to pay them off."
taehyung raised an eyebrow. "ok that's like the stupidest thing i've ever heard. why'd you have to pay all that money? what the fuck? where's that stupid ex husband of yours to pay his own debts?" he asked, a little offended that someone would just put everything as someone else's responsibility.
"taehyung-ssi. my husband's dead, and he's been dead for 6 months now. i had to pay their debts so i sold practically everything and my old two story house."
taehyung mentally slapped himself across the face. "i'm so sorry for your loss. i'm sure your husband was a great man."
jeongguk smiled faintly and sighed deeply. "he was. he was the best man anyone could ever ask for." he whispered softly.
