Jeongguk and Taehyung had been dating for around two years ever since Jeongguk's last year in middle school.

They had met when Jeongguk was ten and Taehyung was twelve. They instantly clicked and became very close friends.

Their relationship evolved and slowly, they began dating. They were hesitant about their relationship since the superhero world still wasn't adapted to gay couples and it was still very much prohibited, despite all the campaigns and protests supporting lgbt rights.

So, they kept their relationship a secret from everyone. The only one who knew about them was Jeongguk's mother. She was very supportive of her son's relationship as long as Taehyung made him happy. She didn't dare tell her husband.

He already despised Jeongguk because he didn't get his quirk. She, herself, was quirkless but they had fallen in love at a young age and refused to let that little detail become an obstacle in their relationship. They got married but unfortunately, they only had Jeongguk. His mother went into pre-labor and was on the verge of dying during the process so the doctors were forced to remove her womb in order not to endanger her health further if she got pregnant again, or else she would get an abortion each time.

Mrs Jeon being the caring mother she is, she knew she couldn't abort if she ever got pregnant and she wasn't going to let Jeongguk grow up without a mother like she did, so she risked everything and let the doctors take out her womb.

Everything was okay, her loving family having the best relationship and they loved their only son more than anything in the entire world. Until Jeongguk reached the age of four. Sadly, he didn't inherit his father's quirk and ended up like his mother.

His father was furious. Ever since that day, he treated Jeongguk like a weapon. Always making him train even though he had no powers. He was determined to get it out of him despite all doctors saying Jeongguk didn't have any quirk.

Training included harsh duels and fights, Jeongguk having to face his father's super strength and lightning quirk which resulted in many bruises.

Jeongguk would be exhausted to no beyond every single day, and all could Taehyung do was kiss the bruises when they were alone and cuddle him while Jeongguk cries about how unfair his father was.

"A-Am I that much of a disappointment?" He asked quietly, burying his face into his boyfriend's chest.

"No, not at all baby." He whispered, kissing the younger's head. "Don't listen to the bastard. You're not a disappointment, you're my baby." He cooed and kissed forehead, fingers under his chin and made him look up. "I love you so much, okay?"

Jeongguk smiled genuinely and kissed him softly. "I love you too." He cuddled closer to him and sighed. "How's school?"

Since Jeongguk was 'quirkless' he continued his high school career in a regular school while Taehyung, having the fire quirk, was admitted into a high school specific to superheroes, called 'League of Heroes'. To say Jeongguk was envious would be an understatement. The way Taehyung would speak of training, his classes, his awesome classmates made him so jealous. He wanted that. He wanted to be a part of that, but sadly he couldn't.
